Often , when I am sad, this Gita Saar works like a magical wand and erases all my problems.It changes the way I think about my failures, my ego, my loss, my confusions and above all it changes my attitude towards life and its ups and downs. And when the road ahead seems very dark- listen to your heart- do your best to come out of a problem and leave the rest on him. Sai is your only best friend who will never ditch you and will come to your rescue if you truly have faith in his descions... I am sure, one of you today needs to read the below brahma gyan and turn all the negative energies around you in to the positive happenings..

Why do you worry without cause? Whom do you fear without reason? Who can kill you? The soul is neither born, nor does it die.

Whatever happened, happened for the good; whatever is happening, is happening for the good; whatever will happen, will also happen for the good only. You need not have any regrets for the past. You need not worry for the future. The present is happening...

What did you lose that you cry about? What did you bring with you, which you think you have lost? What did you produce, which you think got destroyed? You did not bring anything - whatever you have, you received from here. Whatever you have given, you have given only here. Whatever you took, you took from God. Whatever you gave, you gave to him. You came empty handed, you will leave empty handed. What is yours today, belonged to someone else yesterday, and will belong to someone else the day after tomorrow. You are mistakenly enjoying the thought that this is yours. It is this false happiness that is the cause of your sorrows.

Change is the law of the universe. What you think of as death, is indeed life. In one instance you can be a millionaire, and in the other instance you can be steeped in poverty. Yours and mine, big and small - erase these ideas from your mind. Then everything is yours and you belong to everyone.

This body is not yours, neither are you of the body. The body is made of fire, water, air, earth and ether, and will disappear into these elements. But the soul is permanent - so who are you?

Dedicate your being to God. He is the one to be ultimately relied upon. Those who know of his support are forever free from fear, worry and sorrow.

Whatever you do, do it as a dedication to God. This will bring you the tremendous experience of joy and life-freedom forever.

Mother Nature puts us into these three modes or gears to get her work done through us. Actually, all work is done by these three Gunas of nature. We are not the doers, but we are responsible for our actions because we are given a mind and free will to decide and choose between right and wrong action. You can escape the influence of three Gunas by sincere effort, devotion to God and His grace.

God Is with You

A man wanted to smoke and went to a neighbor’s house to get fire to light his charcoal. It was in the dead of night, and the householder was asleep. After he had knocked and knocked, the neighbor finally came down to open the door.

At the sight of the man he asked, “Hello! What’s the matter?”

The man replied, “Can’t you guess? You know I am fond of smoking. I have come here to get fire to light my charcoal.”

The neighbor said, “Ha! Ha! You are a fine neighbor, indeed! You took the trouble to come and do all this knocking at the door in the dead of night! Why? You have a lighted lantern already with you! What we seek is very near and all around us. Everything is God in different forms. Everything in creation is within His gigantic form!

Another way to see God is to develop devotion and good qualities. Lord Krishna said if we have no attachment, selfish desires, hatred, enmity, or violence towards any being, we can reach and see God. (Gita 11.55)

Today – January 30, 2012 – is the Shukla Paksha Saptami or seventh day during the waxing phase of moon in Magh month. This Saptami is dedicated to Hindu God Surya, the sun god in Hinduism. The day is popularly observed as Rath Saptami and Surya Jayanti. Hindu God Surya riding seven horses is worshipped on the day. The popular belief is that earth’s inclination towards the sun is the steepest on the day.It is also believed that in the Mahabharata, Bhishamacharya chose this day to leave his body and attain ‘moksha.’ Special bathing rituals with leaves like Erukku are observed in some regions today keeping in mind the curative powers of sun's rays.

The day is of great importance at Tirupati Balaji Temple where Lord Venkateswara is carried in procession on numerous Vahanas.

Great is Baba and even Greater are His amazing Leela's. Some believe in them and som dont. Some try to reason out with them and some get goose bumps.

Today, 27th Jan 2012- I had another strange experience which made me say- How is this happening???

I was at work and was replying to the messages sent to me by my friend Reena on my facebook account thru my cell phone. And suddenly I noticed that when I type a message and send it to her " Jai Sai Ram " in bold letters gets typed automatically after I pressed the send button. "Jai Sai Ram" was visible to me only after I pressed the send button but amazingly , Reena could only read the message that I typed and surprisingly when I pressed the refresh button -All my messages to her get accumulated and the Jai Sa Ram disaapears. How is this happening is still a mystery to me but its the most amazing miracle of all to me. Everytime, I think - I have seen the most amazing leela of Baba where He makes me witness His presence- I see another one making me go one more step closer to him. I tried sending message to another friend of mine but the Jai Sai Ram did not come on that one.. Another amazing part of this whole miracle is that I usually utter Om Sai Ram in my mails and in person but Jai Sai Ram is uttered by my friend Reena - all the time. I was able to take a picture of my cell phone... Its hard for me to find a logical reason behind this -. But no matter what-- I salute to Baba for showing me his presence and making my faith in him grow stronger and stronger....

Notice the 2 pictures and the "Jai Sai Ram " in bold . It gets on my cell phone screen automatically after I type a message and hit the send button but when I refresh my screen- It disaapears..... Its visible on my phone but not on hers.. However,I was able to click a picture of this amazing miracle thru another cell.

For all who were looking forward to hear about my experiences in Shirdi... Here it goes....

Before leaving for Shirdi I received many prayers to be taken to Shirdi. Those letters taught me a lot and made me realise that the grass is always greener on the other side! As in those letters Sai devotees had poured out their inner feelings, pains and problems to Baba. Some one wanted to have a baby and someone complained abt her childs ignorance. Someone wanted to get married and some one 's marriage was a complete disaster.It is so strange,what you might take for granted, that would be the only reason for me to live. Then there were prayers for the relatives who had health problems.And then there was this 26yr old guy from london who has a rare form of cancer at such a young age. I request all of you to pray to our Sadguru Sainath to show his miracle and bless his devotees with good health and a good life...

Anyways I removed the printout of those mails to Baba and headed for Shirdi. We thought we wont be able to reach in time for the Madhyan arti but we reached at 11am and I headed straight for the PRO office with my passport copy to get the vip pass to attend the arti but unfortunately the office was closed. I tried for abt 45 mins to somehow get the pass but it was all in vain and we lost all hope . I was thinking inside that I have come from so far and I am in time for the Madhyan arti but all the doors were closed for me.and I really wished that I could attend the arti. Anyways, we all know that not even a leaf can move without Sai's grace so we decided to move on and go to Dwarkamai for darshan,- thinking that now that most of the crowd has headed for the madhyan arti, darshan in Dwarkamai should be easier But alas ! when we went there, the line in dwarkamai was quite long and seemed like the doors were closed so the line was just not moving. Anyways , we just said Allaah Maalik and joined the line and as we all believe that if we move 1 inch towards Sai, He will move 10 inches closer to you. And that is what exactly happened. At 12 noon I stepped in Dwarkamai. We had a very good darshan and the second we passed between the window/door between samadhi mandir and dwarkamai - the madhyan aarti started. There was a tv just above where I was standing which gave me a blissful darshan of Sai in Samadhi mandir while I sang the Madhyan arti in Dwarkamai. This was definetly a vip pass for me from Baba.

After the arti , we went in that circle in dwarkamai where everyone meditates and were lucky enough to get naivaidya offered to baba as prasad along with coconuts. We then stood there praying to baba and thanking him for everything that he has given us. But to my surprise, when i opened my eyes, everyone was gone from that circle and no one was allowed in by the security guards except my friend and I. The gates to that circle were closed and we had the blissful darshan to our hearts content.

We saw the wall in Dwarkamai where Babas miracle picture was noticed a few days ago. My friend Aditi , could make out Babas picture on the wall but all I could clearly see was Lord Buddha. Strange, I could bet anything that it was not Sai on that wall of Dwarkamai but it was Lord Buddha giving me his blissful darshan... To me , this was a very wonderful leela of Baba that he made me see Lord Buddha on that wall. There were two reasons behind this leela of Baba - according to my understanding. I was desperately wanting to visit the Palitana Jain temples.

I had my mind set to go there but since I was in India only for 8 days and my 4-5 days went just attending the wedding functions of a close relative- and 1 day was set aside for shirdi- it was not possible for me to go there. I asked so many people during the wedding and they all told me that according to the plane timings and everything else , it would not be possible for me to go there.I did not have enough time on my hands-- may be that is why on that wall of Dwarkamai- Baba gave me the darshan of Lord Buddha .

The second reason is that personally, I think I have become very greedy since the past few months .. I have been having this urge to go for the Kailash Mansarovar yatra. And I want to be there specifically on the 4th of June 2012 to attend the Saga dawa festival during this sacred yatra and also pay my respects at the holy abode of Lord Shiva..

The Saga Dawa festival is celebrated on the 15th day of the 4th Tibetan month and is one of the most important religious festivals celebrated in Tibet. This auspicious day coincides with three important events in Buddha's life namely his birth, nirvana and parinirvana (death). Since the Saga Dawa festival falls on the holiest month of the Tibetan calendar, it is believed that good deeds and prayers are multiplied thousand fold during this event. So we can see everyone immersed in prayers and trying to appease the gods.

I really dont know if I will be able to make it. All my family and friends know abt this that I have my heart set on this Yatra..But now the chances of me going there do not look so good .May be that was the reason out of no where, Baba made me see Lord Buddha in Dwarkamai where everyone else could see Baba's face.I dont know what you will call this but I definetly beleive that ,-this was the most blissful leela of Baba for me..

Moving on we went near the Shani gate where the 3 small temples are located : They are dedicated to Ganesh, Shani (Saturn) and Mahadev (Shiva). I went to the Ganesh temple and then paid my respects to the Shani devta and then at the entry of the Lord Shiva temple - there was a security guard doing nothing. I dont know what got into him- He took a lota- filled it with water and asked me to put it on the Shivling in the Shiva temple.Out of so many people, he chose me. I just can not express how I felt when I entered the temple with water for the shivling in my hands and to add to that I found the bail leaves for the shivling too.Great is Baba and even greater are his leelas.Baba gave me the bliss of being in Kailash when physically I was in Shirdi itself. I had goose bumps all over my body , my heart was filled with content, my soul felt baba's bliss around me and the faith grew stronger that Sai knows what I desire. He will make my wishes and dreams come true in his own way thru his own amazing leelas.

After that ,We arranged for the VIP dhoop aarti passes at the PRO office, which according to me was another leela of Baba but I will share that some other time . Anyways, I did my routine Sai Seva work which I normally do in Shirdi. And then headed for the dhoop aarti.We had a wonderful darshan of baba during the dhoop aarti ,-since we were so close to baba in the VIP section..My friend Aditi and I , both read all the mails which were addressed to Baba and prayed individually for each one of them while we were waiting for the arti to start.After the arti we were able to give all those letters to the priest and he put them all on babas feet and gave it back to us.And later on, we were able to request one of the Sai Sansthan people to immerse those letters in the sacred dhuni.. So lucky were those people whose prayers reached the holy dhuni and I am so sure Baba that will take care of their problems now..

Ofcourse, My trip to Shirdi does not end there. Sai Miracles continued .At abt 7pm, While doing my normal Sai Seva work, I came across a person from the Sai Sansthan who spoke to me at Baba's command. He blessed me and made me realize abt my biggest mistake.He told me things about myself that only I knew.He enlightened me with Brahma Gyan and in the end he put the orange cloth with Baba all over it,- on my head and my shoulders. What more could I ask for. I received his blessings and a sign that no matter where I am- He will always be with me to take care of me and show me the way to His lotus feet...

I can go on and on with his leela's but I think for now this is enough. I will surely share more , If He permits me to do so. May the Merciful Sri Sai Baba always shower His grace on us and our families and remove our problems and anxieties by giving us all - strength , goodluck, success and happiness with peace of mind.

Once again , I am back and now ready to start my 2012 in the company of Shri Shirdi Saibaba. I just came back from India, day before yesterday and with the blessings and grace of Sai- I was fortunate enough to visit my favourite place in the whole world which is none other than Shirdi...

Just like someone who is passionately in luv with her soulmate -- will remember her in every romantic song he hears and will think of her no matter where he goes .... In the same way , a true devotee of baba will see every minor and major episode of her life as baba's leela. For such a devotee , every good episode of her life is termed as a blessing of Sai and anything bad that happens is the fruit of her own bad actions. A true devotee of baba will definetly see babas leela in every single thing. Some of my own personal experiences are a result of such beliefs. This trip to india definetly brought me a lot of surprises. I received blessings from people who I never knew, I learnt about my mistakes from a total stranger, Some friends became strangers and Strangers enlightened me with Brahma Gyan.

In the last 8 days I danced like a 17 yr old, laughed like a teenager, dressed to kill as if I was d Miss India, had a blissful teerthyatra as if my death was close, cried like a baby, understood the meaning of pain and misery like an 80 yr old , was surrounded by Baba's leelas no matter where I went, did sai seva and prayed for devotees in Shirdi like Deepa H and not to mention , I fell sick like a genuine NRI in the end...haha!

Anyways, to sum it up , this trip definetly was like a turning point of my life. And regardless of the different reasons, the laughter and the tears - are what makes me live my life to the fullest.And finally for all who were looking forward to hear about my experiences in Shirdi... You have to wait for another 24 hrs cos I am suffering from a very bad jet lag and have a very bad sorethroat, cough, runnynose and a head ache. I have just slept for 4 hrs in the past 24 hrs. And have not slept much in the past 10 days either, so for now, plz pray for me. I am dying to have a good night sleep.Will definetly share Baba's grace and leelas with all of you tommorrow.. Until then wishing all of u a very Happy Republic day!!

It is Baba Who Makes Life Meaningful

One might think as if the world is governed by ignorance when one comes across people without a basic understanding of life, jumping to feet in the dark corners and moving, purposelessly, towards an unknown destination. Many of us are still groping in the darkness, unaware of "Who we are"? "Where have we come from"? And "Where are we moving"? People are leading a dreary life without knowing the meaning and purpose of life. The Almighty created mankind in His own image of ever-new Delight. The root cause of all human troubles lies in our inability to discover the Source of Bliss within us.
A complete surrender to God's will, would solve all our problems, reveals the purpose of life and shows the lovely path of realizing it. One who can understand this reality will eternally stay in His celestial light of wisdom. On tasting the nectar of His love, the earlier earthly bonds of hurdles would appear pleasant. The priceless life gifted to us would appear more purposeful. Life is delight if we look through the eyes of devotion and faith. The Omnipotent Baba blessed us with such a beautiful life, reveals us the goal of life and guides us in His Love-Light to reach Him and be with Him. Only our faith and love-devotion to Baba will make our lives meaningful and joyful. Let us pray to Baba to guide us in His Light of Grace.

Its less than one week remaining and I will be leaving for India soon. One more time, I am making plans to be in Shirdi but Ofcourse, we can just make plans but the final command for me to come to Shirdi comes from our Shri Sadguru Sainath.And like always, I hope and pray that I am able to visit His sacred Samadhi mandir and all my other favourite temples in and out of Shirdi..

A Miracle occurred in Shirdi on the night of Thursday 05th Jan`2012.
Right after Baba's Shej Aarti got over, an image of Sai Baba's face appeared on the wall of Dwarkamai.
Very distinctly seen, the face of Sai Baba appeared on the Nimbar (Niche) which is on the western wall of Dwarkamai.

The Shri Sai Satcharitra relates that it was here that Baba used to have his midday meal,
sitting behind a curtain with his back to the Nimbar, and a row of devotees on either side of him.
This is also the place where Baba would sleep with his head pointing towards the Nimbar.
Sai Baba also occasionally did his Namaz (ritual prayers) here.
This Nimbar also has a set of lamps placed by Baba in-front of it.

As this news spread, people from all over started rushing to Shirdi to be blessed by this miracle of Baba.
And slowly the crowds grew in such numbers that Shirdi Sansthan's Security guards also found it difficult to control them.
Chanting the name of Sai Baba, the inside & outside of Dwarkamai was flooded with devotees, all trying to get a glimpse of Baba's Image.

It takes years and even decades sometimes just to cross a bridge. That bridge to some might mean accepting that they had a past and it should be just left in the past instead of carrying it around in ur present and heading for the future along with it.
That bridge might mean to some to free themselves from their own negative qualities . Those negative qualities of greed, anger, jealousy, pride ,ego and many more which have the power to pull one back into the darkness of sinful actions.

That bridge might mean to some to forgive themselves and others for something that happened in the past.Hatred is the poison that kills us before it can ruin others.
That bridge might mean to some to avoid repeating their own mistakes again and again. Its like rewinding a certain scene in a movie again and again. Life seems to get stuck for those as they do not learn from their mistakes but instead prefer continuing them. Such people instead of correcting their mistakes continue making them and thus life becomes like a living hell for them.
That bridge also might mean to someone to share with their friends the truth. Share with your loved ones not only the good news abt you buying a new iphone or a ipad but also the criticism that you had to endure. It also might mean to Share with the ones that mean the whole world to you not only the news abt your interview in a local newspaper or a news channel but also about the hurdles and stones that life throws upon you. Sharing is not about just highlighting your achievements but it also means being honest about your downfalls .

That bridge might mean to some to understand the value of time and today. Very often we leave it on tomorrow to let the person we love know how much he/she means to us and for many that tomorrow never comes and he/she looses the beauty of that relationship. Life throws a curse on those people cos they appreciated the materialistic things that they owned but were lazy enough to appreciate the people in their lives who could make their heart skip a beat and bring a whole new meaning to their present moment and past memories..

There are many such bridges and I think I can actually write a whole book about it but for now this is a fact that all of us including you and me are stuck somewhere on that bridge. Lets all take that extra step together towards a life full of warmth, happiness, love of family and friends and above all lets take that one extra step towards the love and faith in our Shri Sadguru Sainath.

The Art of Giving

"Rivers do not drink their own water, nor do trees eat their own fruit, nor do rain clouds eat the grains reared by them. The wealth of the noble is used solely for the benefit of others?
Even after accepting that giving is good and that one must learn to give, several questions need to be answered.

#The first question is when should one give?
We all know the famous incident from Mahabharat.Yudhisthir, asks a beggar seeking alms to come the next day. On this, Bhim rejoices, that Yudhisthir, his brother, has conquered death! For he is sure that he will be around tomorrow to give. Yudhisthir gets the message.

One does not know really whether one will be there tomorrow to give!
The time to give therefore is now.

#The next question is 'how much to give?

One recalls the famous incident from history.Maharana Rana Pratap was reeling after defeat from the Moghals. He had lost his army, he had lost his wealth, and most important he had lost hope, his will to fight. At that time in his darkest hour, his erstwhile minister Bhamasha came seeking him and placed his entire fortune at the disposal of Rana Pratap. With this, Rana Pratap raised an army and lived to fight another day.
The answer to this question how much to give is "Give as much as you can!!

#The next question is what to give ?

It is not only money that can be given. It could be a flower or even a smile.

It is not how much one gives but how one gives that really matters. When you give a smile to a stranger, that may be the only good thing received by him in days and weeks!

"You can give anything but you must give it with your heart.

One also needs answer to this question whom to give?
Many times we avoid giving by finding fault with the person who is seeking. However, being judgemental and rejecting a person on the presumption that he may not be the most deserving is not justified.

"Give without being judgemental!!

Next we have to answer 'How to give?
Coming to the manner of giving, one has to ensure that the receiver does not feel humiliated, nor the giver feels proud by giving.

'Let not your left hand know what your right hand gives? Charity without publicity and fanfare, is the highest form of charity.
'Give quietly'!!

While giving let not the recipient feel small or humiliated. After all what we give never really belonged to us. We come to this world with nothing and will go with nothing. The thing gifted was only with us for a temporary period. Why then take pride in giving away something which really did not belong to us?

Give with grace and with a feeling of Gratitude.

What should one feel after giving?

We all know the story of Eklavya. When Dronacharya asked him for his right thumb as "Guru Dakshina? he unhesitatingly cut off the thumb and gave it to Dronacharya. There is a little known sequel to this story. Eklavya was asked whether he ever regretted the act of giving away his thumb. He replied, and the reply has to be believed to be true, as it was asked to him when he was dying.
His reply was "Yes ! I regretted this only once in my life. It was when Pandavas were coming in to kill Dronacharya who was broken hearted on the false news of death of his son Ashwathama and had stopped fighting. It was then that I regretted the loss of my thumb. If the thumb was there, no one could have dared hurt my Guru?
The message to us is clear.
Give and never regret giving !

And the last question is 'how much should we provide for our heirs' ?

Ask yourself 'are we taking away from them the "gift of work? - a source of happiness! The answer is given by Warren Buffett:
"Leave your kids enough to do anything, but not enough to do nothing!

I would conclude by saying: let us learn the Art of Giving, and quoting Sant Kabir:
"When the wealth in the house increases, when water fills a boat, Throw them out with both hands! This is the wise thing to do!

Lets continue our journey to some of the most amazing ancient Hindu temples of the world

TANAH LOT- The sea temple

Tanah Lot, one of the most popular places of interest in Bali, is located on the coast of West Bali, at the village of Beraban in the Tabanan Regency.The temple is just 13km south west from Tabanan and a short drive from Kuta.

It is also called Tanah Let which means ancient land and also Tanah Lod, which means the land to the south. The temple Pura Tanah Lot, simple in its construction, is dramatic in its ocean-front location and is one of the main temples in the worship of Balinese gods.

Tanah Lot, is built on top of a huge rock which is surrounded by the sea.The Tanah Lot temple has been a part of Balinese mythology for centuries. The temple is one of 7 sea temples, each within eyesight of the next, to form a chain along the south-western coast of Bali.

Poisonous sea snakes that have been found at the base of the rocky island are believed to guard the temple from evil spirits and intruders.

The temple is situated on a crag in the sea close to the shore. On the footpath it can only be reached at low tide without getting wet. Travelers can reach the temple from the beach after a 50-meter long corridor of smoothed stones and fine dark sand. Once arrived at the small island there is a short ascent towards the temple, where a gate barred the entrance to the temple. The temple can be entered only by believers. Tanah Lot is most popular in the late afternoon when the temple is silhouetted in the sunset.

Legend has it that in 1546 a roving priest by the name of Danghyang Nirartha arrived in Bali from neighbouring Java. Obviously ferry-adverse, it is said he crossed the water between the two islands on the leaf of a keluwih tree and landed near Negara.

From Negara he travelled over much of Bali, having temples and shrines built along the way. In the case of Tanah Lot, he spied the small rock island just off the coast, set up camp there and, after local fisherfolk brought him gifts, he suggested they build a shrine on the island — that'll teach them to give gifts to strangers!

According to another legend, the Tanah Lot temple was built by a Brahmin named holy Nirartha also called Ida Rauh Wawu Sakti or Danghyang Dwijendra in the 16th century, he came to Bali to spread and strengthen the teaching of Hinduism.

At the time the ruler of Tanah Lot, Bendesa Beraben, was jealous of him because his followers began to leave him and to follow Danghyang Nirartha. Bendesa Beraben told Danghyang Nirartha to leave the Tanah Lot. Danghyang Nirartha promised and before leaving the Tanah Lot he (with his strength) moved the stone chunk to the middle of the coast (not to the middle of sea) and built the temple there.Danghyang Nirartha also changed his shawl into the guard snake of the temple.It is believed that the Snake is still there even today to provide salvation and grant the prayers of people who touch it.Scientifically this snake belongs to the kinds of sea snake which has characteristics flat tale like fish, black color yellow stripes and its poison is 3 times stronger than the cobra.
The end of the legend mentioned that Bendesa Beraben had finally become the follower Danghyang Nirartha

Tanah Lot is one of the seven sea temples on Bali.

All seven of these have been credited to Nirartha, and running west to east are:

Pura Pulaki (near Pemuteran), Pura Gede Perancak and Pura Rambut Siwi (both near Negara, the former being Nirartha's first effort upon arrival), Tanah Lot, Pura Luhur Uluwatu on the Bukit, Pura Mas Suka on the southernmost tip of the Bukit (near Green Bowl surfpoint) and Pura Sakenan at Serengan island between Benoa and Sanur.

The guardians of the temples are poisonous snakes that are considered sacred. The Balinese believe that they are the descendants of the snake god Basuki.

Basuki is the protector of the sea temple and the meru with 5 roofs is built to honour this god.

You won’t easily bump into the snakes though because they are dozing away throughout the day in the ridges of the cliff and there is always somebody to watch over them.

Only at low tide do they move towards the temple to eat from the offerings placed by the Balinese people.

Pura Tanah Lot temple specially built for the sea, namely the cult of the god guards the sea

Not everyone is allowed into this temple. The tourists may only melongok down from the temple. Only those who want to pray or conduct religious activities are permitted into the temple.

Temple is also very closely related to 2 other holy places in Tabanan, the Pura and Pura Luhur Batukaru Tasik navel where Pura Luhur Batukaru trusted as a phallus (purusa) and Pura Tanah Lot as Yoni (ocean). Perpaduannya a trusted source of life that bring prosperity to the people there.

Not only that. In the north temple, precisely in the cave under the cliffs, there are snakes that dikeramatkan.In this place, there are sources of fresh water called Tirta Pabersihan used as a means of seeking purity.

Tanah Lot is one of the spiritual destinations for Hindu people from different countries. In addition to the usual Hindu Odalan or feast in the Temple-.,Fall close to the Galungan and Kuningan, precisely on the Day of the Holy Buddha Cemeng Langkir. At that time, many people come to visit this sacred Temple.

As strange it may seem, this hindu temple makes us witness the beauty of nature along with the stories of the Sea God and the beliefs that the snake Guard makes our wishes and dreams come true.May Lord Buddha and all the sacreds Gods of this temple make our lives as blessed and as amazing as this temple.My humble pranams to all the Gods and Goddesses of this temple..

According to Myamarese authorities this is actually the tallest statue on Earth, but its official size, 116 meters, only makes it the runner up.

Construction of the Lakyun Setkyar statue began in 1996 and the completion ceremony took place on February 21^st, 2008.

The Laykyun Setkyar complex features two enormous Buddhas: one standing and one reclining. Tourism to Monywa sparked by the unveiling of the Laykyun Setkyar statues has increased greatly, providing both income to local businesses and a window to the outside world for Burmese citizens of this culture-rich, ancient city.

The Jain Dilwara temples of India are located about 2½ kilometers from Mount Abu, Rajasthan's only hill station. These temples built by Chalukya between the 11th and 13th centuries AD are world famous for their stunning use of marble. The five legendary marble temples of Dilwara are a sacred pilgrimage place of the Jains. Some consider them to be one of the most beautiful Jain pilgrimage sites in the world.

The marble temples have an opulent entranceway, the simplicity in architecture reflecting Jain values like honesty and frugality

Although the Jains built some beautiful temples at other places in Rajasthan, some believe that none come close to these in terms of architectural perfection. The ornamental detail spreading over the minutely carved ceilings, doorways, pillars and panels is simply marvellous.

There are many followers of Jainism in West India. However, since Jainas account for only 0.5% of the total Indian population, they are still a minority. The most important teaching of Jainism is "Ahimsa," meaning non-violence or non-killing.

Ahimsa is applied not only for humans, but also for all sentient beings. Jainas even avoid claiming the lives of insects.

The precepts that Jaina monks should follow are very strict. When they travel on foot for ascetic practices and preachment during the dry season, they carry brushes in their hands and wear masks.

They make it a rule to brush aTo wear a mask is for fear of biting small flying insects unwittingly when opening their mouths carelessly. way surfaces of stones before sitting down on them in order to avoid stamping on insects.

The interior space of this temple is made of white marble. Everywhere except the floors, from walls to ceilings as well as columns and beams, are covered with extremely delicate engravings.

Above all a Domical ceiling of "Ranga mandapa" (open-type hall) is carved concentrically with utmost intricacy..

This white and pure space is so gorgeous that it makes us feel as if we are out of this world.

The central part of it is sagging like a chandelier made of stalactite. Sixteen bodies of "Vidyadevi" (goddesses of knowledge) are also engraved on the vault. It is hard to believe that all of them are made of stone.As we enter the temple we get a glimpse of the grandeur of sculptured marble, exquisite carvings of ceilings, domes, pillars and arches of the temple which is beyond anyone's expectations.

The Delwara temples are a composite cluster of 5 temples.The five temples are:

1 Vimal Vasahi (Shri Adinathji Temple)

2 Luna Vasahi (Sri Neminathji Temple)

3 Pithalhar (Sri Rishabdevoji)

4 Khartar Vasahi ( Sri Parshavanathji)

5 Mahavira swami (Sri Mahavira swami Temple)

All these shrines belong to different centuries

This is build wholly of white marble, they have got exuberant carvings and ornamentation work on the walls, doors, pillars, mandaps, torans, ceilings etc..

The designs depict life stories of Jain Tirthankars, scenes of Gods & Goddesses and great men from Jain and great Hindu mythology

I hope someday , I do go to this sacred temple of Lord Buddha. May Lord Buddha shower his kind blessings upon us and fill our lives with eternal peace and contentment.

Who arewe to award the consequence to anybody for his doings? In the ultimate analysisthis lies with God only.

Everybodywill bear the consequence of his or her actions. Many a times a human beingmisconceives himself of

being thegiver of justice to others in terms of punishments and rewards. Justice isdelivered by God only.

Becauseof our limited intellect we think that we are being subjected to injustice bysomebody. However, in the

ultimatereality , we don’t understand that we had also committed similar injusticetowards somebody in the past.

Manytimes we become proud of our strength and capability and try to turn thesituations in our favour with

selfishinterest. If one wields power then that should be used to conquer one’s ownself. If one wants to emerge

victoriousthen one should conquer those causes due to which enmity and aggression arisesin heart. No matter

how muchof hardship comes in life, one should bear the brunt of the circumstances orresults of his actions

withforbearance. It needs great amount of inner strength to be generous towardsthose whom we consider to be

ourenemies. Today, if we save ourselves from some aggression, tomorrow there willbe a new set of aggressions.

Thus, wewill be left entangled in a cycle of cause and effect. If we punish someonetoday, he will punish us in

nextlife. If we excuse, this chain of reactions also ends.

In our lives we dont get everything that we wish for and this is true for each one of us, including You and Me. But that one thing that we do not get , can make us complain to Sai.It can make us feel depressed and frustrated.It can make us hate people and can make us play the blame game.

What you will read below is specially for those people who have been complaining abt life and doubting on Sai/ God's existence.

Life is sometimes sweet and at times it is sour. Life gives us sweet memories to cherish but it also gives us tears when we loose someone or something that was very dear to us. Life may seem incomplete to some and to some blessed who have complete faith in Sai , life seems to be full of contentment. Those people understand that nothing stays forever.

Daylight will change into darkness but the moon will have to set when its time for the sun to rise. A new born baby will grow into an infant, then in no time the very same child will be a teenager, then an adult and then finally into an old person. Just like that baby's height , weight and facial features changed while growing, In the same way, life showed that baby all the different seasons, made him express different feelings and taught him several lessons. Some things that life gave to that baby, made him feel happy, and sometimes when he took life for granted- life made him feel frustrated and confused. All this continues in everyones life until we understand that life is what we give, it is the mirror of our actions and everyone has to go thru the good and the bad times.

The only solution to this is that remember nothing is constant. Life keeps changing-

We all came alone in this world and we all will go alone. Life is a journey where we will meet new people and we will loose some loved ones too. Its all a part of life. Even Sai had to go thru all the happiness and miseries and pain that life gave him.

So accept the changes that life surprises you with. Instead of complaining and crying abt what you lost ,- why not be someone's hope, be someones smile. You have something that others might not have- be their support, be their trust, be their happiness. Life shows us unexpected and we all have to go thru its pain. But dont forget the millions of blessings you have enjoyed in this journey. If you count the things that u have indeed taken for granted and compare with what u did not get-- u will appreciate what Sai has given u.

Your faith in Sai and your good Karma are the two things that keep you connected with Sainath. Do not ever let that bond break. The stronger the bond- The easier this journey gets- Think of this journey as if your a small child and are holding your mom's hand and crossing the road. If you are a good obidient child and have complete faith in ur mom while crossing the road- You are assured that nothing will happen to you.No matter how many obstacles come in ur way but ur mom will always protect you. But if you loose faith in ur mom and become a bad child and decide to leave her hand, then the result is obvious -You will not be able to cross the road or go thru this journey of life without pain and misery.So have faith, have patience , practise good karma ,be contented with you have and leave the rest on Baba. He will always be on your side to protect you in this small journey of life.

It has been almost 2 yrs now since I last went to India and I was lucky to go to Haridwar, Mansha Devi Temple ,Rishikesh, Devprayag, Shirdi, Trimbakeshwar and Shri Swami Samarth Temple. Its unbelievable that in abt two weeks , I was able to complete my whole trip to India.. Hopefully, this time when I go to India- I am able to visit this amazing temple in Bhavnagar known as the Palitana Temple. And after seeing the below pictures, I am sure that you too, will wish for the same...

Palitana is the greatest and biggest pilgrimage center and sacred place of Jains. The Shwetambar Jain community believes that the hill of Palitana (Siddhachal) is eternal. Rshabhadev (Adinath), the first Jain Tirthankara, came here several times and preached. Billions of monks and nuns have attained Nirvana (Salvation) from this hill from times immemorial.

It is also believed that hundred millions monks leaded by Dravida andVarikhilla attained here Nirvana on the auspicious day of Kartika Purnima (Full moon day in the month of Kartika according to Indian lunar calendar) and fifty millions leaded by Nami and Vinami on Chaitri Purnima (Full moon day in the month of Chaitra according to Indian lunar calendar).

Palitana is a city in Bhavnagar district, Gujarat, India. It is located 50 km southwest of Bhavnagar city .

The Palitana temples are considered the most sacred pilgrimage place (tirtha) by the Jain community, and is the world's largest Temple Complex. There are more than 3000 temples located on the Shatrunjaya hills, exquisitely carved in marble. The main temple on top of the hill, is dedicated to 1st tirthankar lord Adinath (Rishabdeva).

On the top the Shatrunjai Hill is a cluster of Jain temples, built by generations of Jains over a period of 900 years, from the 11th century onwards. The temples are managed by the Anandji Kalyanji Trust of the Kasturbai Lalbhai group.

From the foot of the hill to the top there are 3,800 and odd stone steps cut to facilitate climbing.The steps were hewn out of the rock in the 13th century CE during the time of Jain minister Vastupal.

The temples are exquisitely carved in marble, veritable prayers in stone. To an observer, these appear to be ivory miniatures when seen from a distance. Created by master craftsmen, the most important temple is that of the first teerthankara, Shri Adishwar. It has ornate architectural motifs, though in its overall plan it is simpler than the Choumukh.

Other notable temples are those of Kumarpal, Vimalshah and Sampriti Raja. Kumarpal Solanki, a great Jain patron, probably built the earliest temple. The temple has a fabulous collection of jewels, and these can be seen with special permission.

The temples date from 11th to the 20th century

On one special day (Fagun Sud 13), which usually falls in February/March of every year (According to Hindu Calender, it is 13th Day of Sud Cycle in the month of Falgun) there is a huge crowd of thousands of people visiting its place as it is said that on this particular day, millions of Jain followers attained salvation from this Hill. Also the pilgrim on that day is almost 3 times as compared to any other day which is also called as "6 Gaon" which is approximately 15-18 Kilometers of walk and climbing of Hilly terrain.

Every devout Jain aspires to climb to the top of the mountain at least once in his lifetime, because of its sanctity. The journey is arduous. The walk up the stone stairway hewn into the mountain face takes about an hour and a half. For those unable or unaccustomed to the strain, sling-chairs are available at a bargain.The code for the climbers is stringent, in keeping with the rigours of the Jain faith. Food must neither be eaten nor carried on the way.They can, however, drink water and water posts are provided all along the route

The descent must begin before it is evening, for no soul can remain atop the sacred mountain during the night. Such is the mystique of Palitana, the summit of Shatrunjaya. While atop one can also visit a Muslim shrine of Angar Pir. The childless women seek the Pir's blessings to be blessed with children. They offer miniature cradles to the Pir and the shrine is strewn with such cradles.

There are 900 temples big and small on the two summits. The sculptures that adorn the marble temples present a feast to the eyes. You need not be a Jain to admire the spectacle. Generations of Jain all over the country have contributed their mite to make Shatrunjay Hill what it is today.

It is said all the Jain Tirthankars, excepting Neminath, had attained nirvan on Shatrunjay Hill. This fact adds to the veneration the devout have for the place. The place is therefore called Siddhakshetra where one attains moksh.The mountain is associated with Rishabhdev, the first Tirthankar who is also known as Adinath.

The main temple at the top contains his idol in padmasan. He belonged to the Ikshvaku Dynasty of Ayodhya. So Rama was his ancestor. Adinath visited the Shatrunjay Hill 93 times.

Isn't it amazing ??? If I ask this question to you or myself- the answer that most of us will reply will be NO !!!

Your age is xx yrs but have u or me visited that many amt of temples. My reply is NO and I am sure most of you will agree with me that we have been to xx number of restaraunts but not the same amt of temples ..

I hope someday I am able to say that YES, my age is xx yrs and I have payed my respects to atleast that many temples..

Until then lets know a little more abt this sacred Jain Temple known as Ranakpur temple

Ranakpur Temples are acclaimed world-wide for their intricate and superb architectural style. These temples form one of the five major pilgrimages of the Jains. Located in village of Ranakpur near Sadri town in the Pali district of Rajasthan, Ranakpur temple lies at a distance of 95 kms in the north of Udaipur city. The temple is easily accessible from the city of Udaipur as regular buses are easily available. Built in the 15th century, Ranakpur temples are known for being the largest and most important temples of the Jain cult.

The temple is said to have been built by Seth Dharna Sah (a Jain businessman) with the aid of Rana Kumbha, who ruled Mewar in the 15th century. Ranakpur got its name after the name of the Rajput Monarch and likewise the temples. The temple complex is positioned in an isolated valley on the western side of the Aravalli Range. The Jain Temples of Ranakpur are certainly creditable for their splendid architecture. This temple is wholly constructed in light colored marble and comprises a basement covering an area of 48000 sq feet. There are more than 1400 exquisitely carved pillars that support the temple.

The temple is a masterpiece of architecture and boasts of not less than four additional shrines. It has 24 pillared halls with 80 domes that are supported by 400 columns. The upper and lower parts of the domes are linked by brackets that have deities' sculptures. Above all, you would be amazed to see at a height of 45 feet engraved nymphs playing the flute in various dance postures. Each column is intricately carved and it is surprising to know that no two columns have the similar design.

Apart from this, another stunning act about these columns is that they change their color from golden to pale blue after every hour during the day. In the mandap (prayer hall), the two big bells of 108 kg each produce a harmonious sound on the movement. Chaumukha temple is formed like a Nalinigulm Vimana (heavenly aircraft) and provides this whole structure a celestial appearance. Conceivably, it is due to the intricacy of the structure that the temple took approximately 65 years to complete.

In the complex, there are several temples including Chaumukha temple, Parsavanath temple, Amba Mata Temple and Surya Temple. Amongst all of them, Chaumukha Temple is the most important and as the term Chaumukha suggests, this temple is four-faced. Chaumukha temple is dedicated to Lord Adinath, who is the first 'Tirthankara' of the Jains. The Temple structure is highly compound having four different doorways to get into the chambers. These chambers ultimately take you to the main hall where the image of Adinath is positioned.

The four faced image also symbolizes the Tirthankara's quest for the four directions and ultimately the cosmos. The image is surrounded by many small shrines and domes. One more range of cells with separate roofs encircles these shrines and domes all over again. The five spires elevate above the walls and around 20 cupolas rise from roof of the pillared hall. Each spire houses a shrine and the largest shrine is the important one that addresses the central altar. The temple ceilings are festooned with foliate scrollwork and geometric patterns.

The Temple of Parsavanath is another attraction that is worth visiting. Built in the mid 15th century, the temple is renowned for its engraved windows embellished with Jain figures. Parsavanath Temple is also known as Patriyon Ka Mandir. In close proximity to this temple, you can trace two other temples dedicated to Neminath (22nd saint) and Surya Narayan (Sun God) respectively. Here, Surya Narayan Temple has innumerable wall projections with circular structure. The sight of Lord Surya driven in his chariot of seven horses is truly pleasing.

The dating of this temple is controversial but it is largely considered to be anywhere between the late 14th to mid-15th centuries. Inspired by a dream of a celestial vehicle, Dhanna Shah, a Porwad, is said to have commissioned it, under the patronage of Rana kumbha, then ruler of Mewar. The architect who oversaw the project is said to have been named Deepaka. There is an inscription on a pillar near the main shrine stating that in 1439 Deepaka, an architect, constructed the temple at the direction of Dharanka, a devoted Jain

The origins of Jainism can be traced back to the Indus River valley civilization of 3000 B.C.

Jains believe that there were 24 great teachers the last of whom was Lord Mahavira who lived during 6th century B.C. These twenty-four teachers are called Tirthankaras-people who had attained all knowledge while living (Moksha) and preached it to the people. Thus, there is not one all-powerful supreme being that controls all.

Jains believe in reincarnation. Their souls, which are believed to be a unique substance in the universe, take different living forms in the cycle of birth, death, and rebirth. This cycle has been going on forever, the universe has no beginning or end, it has always been and always will be. The ultimate goal is to get rid of one's karma on their soul so that they may end this cycle. Once this goal is reached their soul has attained all knowledge and it rests in the heavens forever (Nirvana).

Karma theory is about actions and the results they bring to the soul's path. It is the simply the law of cause and effect with respect to the soul.
E.G. One's actions for today will effect what will happen to them in this or their future lives.

The way to get rid of one's karma is to follow certain rules of doing good somewhat similar to the ten commandments. These include the principles of:

Ahimsa - To protect all life (non-violence)
Satya - To speak truth
Asteya - To not steal
Brahmacharya - To not commit adultery
Aparigraha - To limit one's possessions

Jains uphold these principles by practicing vegetarianism, non-violence in thought, deed, and action.

Jains perform their sacred rituals at the temple or Derasar. Some of these rituals are:

Puja - Concentrating on one's soul through intense prayer sometimes in the presence of sculptures of the teachers to serve as an example of how to attain Moksha.
Samayik - Forty-eight minute ritual that asks for forgiveness for one's sins
Namokar Mantra - A short prayer that can be said at any time that shows obeisance to the perfect souls that have achieved Nirvana.

The biggest event in the Jain calendar is the holy week (8-10 days) of Paryushan where Jains reflect upon their actions throughout the past year. The week takes place in August or September and is concluded by a three hour prayer called Pratikraman.

The ultimate power of a Mantra uttered in words and meter depends on the one who recites it, his feelings at the time and the place where it is recites. However, the Namokar Mantra while it controls our behaviour pattern and destroys our sins (Karmanashak), upon being recited increases our inner spiritual strength. It releases us from crisis, and it generates our well-being. Jain scriptures tell of its endless magical manifestation: A dog who was about to die, heard the Mantra recited by Jeevandhar and became a handsome Yaksha. A pair of serpents heard the Mantra recited by Parshva Kumar and metamorphosed into Darnendra and Padmavati. A bull while in physical agony, heard the Mantra recited by Seth Padmaruchi and in his next life became Prince Vrishabhdhvaj - the same prince was known as Sugriva later on. The nobleman Dhananjai's son dying from snakebite heard the Mantra and regained life. Anjan the thief running from sure death learnt this Mantra and became a learned man. Aj while dying patiently heard the Mantra recited by Charudutt and reached heaven. There are endless legends about the power of this Mantra. The one who recites this sure Mantra with real faith, scales the heights of the everlasting pits of hell. In this context it would be well to recall Suhom Chakravarti's fate.

May we all learn from the teachings and beliefs of Jainism and make our souls pure and sacred so that it is ready to become one with God.

Ekadasi Fasting is dedicated to Srihari Vishnu. Ekadashi November 2011 dates are November 6 and November 21.

The Ekadashi on November 21, 2011 is known as Utpanna Ekadasi

The significance of Utpanna was narrated to Arjuna by Lord Krishna and is mentioned in the Bhavishyottara Purana. For those devotees who like to begin the monthly Ekadasi fasting, Utpanna Ekadasi is the Ekadashi that they should start with.

People can escape from the bad effects of all the sins accumulated during the previous births and this birth. Thus Utpanna Ekadasi helps in attaining Moksha.

Fresh beginners who want to undertake Ekadasi fasting start it with Utpanna Ekadasi. They can continue it forever or for a year. How long it is continued depends on the devotee.All the normal rules associated with Ekadasi are observed during Utpanna Ekadashi.

How to observe Ekadashi was narrated to Arjuna by Lord Krishna and is found in the

Bhavisyottara Purana.Ekadasi is the name of the Goddess that arose from Lord Vishnu to defeat Demon Mura. Happy with her divine act, Lord Vishnu blessed her that anyone who observes Ekadasi fast will be freed of their sins and will attain Moksha.

Some people only take a single meal on the Dasami day, the day before Ekadasi.

Things needed for Ekadasi Puja and Prayer

A picture or photo or idol of Lord Vishnu

Fruits

Tulsi leaves (The tulsi leaves should not be picked on the day but on the previous day)
Yellow bananas
And other normal puja items

Observance

Wake up early in the morning. Take bath and offer prayers.

Perform a simple puja to Lord Vishnu at home by lighting a lamp and offering fruits and Tulsi leaves.
Pray or meditate for few minutes.
If there is a Vishnu temple nearby visit the temple and witness morning pujas and rituals.
Complete fast or Upavas on the day is the main observance.

Ekadasi Fasting

Fasting is for 24 hours. It is believed that a partial or total abstinence from food on Ekadasi is rewarded with bliss.

If you have any health problem or are taking medicines, please consult your doctor before deciding on fasting. You can also opt for a partial fast by avoiding food made of rice.
Do not eat food made from rice on Ekadashi.
Strictly avoid eating rice and grains, honey, meat and eating on a bell metal plate. Do not apply oil on the day.
Those taking partial fast can consume fruits and milk.

Afternoon

Take bath and offer prayers to Lord Vishnu

Evening Prayers

Take a bath in the evening.

Repeat the morning puja to Vishnu

Visit Vishnu temple and witness the evening puja and rituals.

Staunch devotees who observe Vaikunta Ekadasi fasting do not sleep on the day. They spend the whole night at Vishnu temples or by singing prayers or listening stories dedicated to Lord Vishnu.
But those devotees who have health problems sleep at night. Those people who work, take rest at night and avoid keeping vigil at night

Next Day Morning

The fast is broken on the next day (Dwadashi) after taking bath. Offer prayers to Lord Vishnu by lighting a lamp and then you can break the fast.

I hate making descions and therefore, often in life I become confused. But always in the end , when I am just not able to make up my mind- I leave it all to my Sai. Siddhesvara Dham in Sikkim created atop Solophok hilltop, 5km from Namchi, has a 108 ft tall statue of Shiva, replicas of 12 Jyotirlingas, models of sacred Chardham – Hindu Temples of Jagannath, Badrinath, Dwaraka and Rameswaram and a 18-feet statue of Kirateshwar – a hunter incarnation of Shiva.

In Hindu mythology, it is believed that Lord Shiva, after losing Sati in Agnikund, had gone into seclusion and became a hunter in the forests of Sikkim.

Siddhesvara Dham has been created over 29.9 hectares at Solophok hilltop, 5km from Namchi, at a cost of Rs 56.51 crore.

The giant statue of Lord Shiva in sitting posture has been erected at the highest point of the hilltop.

A 135ft statue of Guru Padmasambhava — the patron saint of Sikkim — and a two-storey temple dedicated to Sai Baba also boost the pilgrimage appeal of South Sikkim. While Guru Padmasambhava’s statue is across the Solophok hilltop, the Sai temple is just a stone’s throw from the new pilgrimage complex.

Namchi is 75km from Gangtok and is the administrative headquarters of South Sikkim

The rural development department said the Siddhesvara Dham had been set up with an aim to promote pilgrimage tourism and create commercial opportunities for the local people.

The place which is a pilgrim cum cultural heritage complex is built by Rural Development and Management Department, Government of Sikkim with state of art technology has all the capacity to turn out to be the most sort after tourist as well as pilgrimage destination of Sikkim in the near future.

During the Pran Prastisha programme Guru Jagad Sankaryacharya said that every people can worship here and it will be known as famous holy place in future. After visiting the Dham, people will get encouragement and a desire to do something. People will definitely come here to attain salvation.

He also said that, according to Hindu mythology, during the war fought between Kauravas and Pandavas when Arjuna was devoting in this particular place, Lord Shivaji revealed himself and blessed Arjuna. While Arjuna was praying a boar appeared before him which was being haunted by Kirateswar. Co- incidentally, the boar was killed by two arrows shot by Arjuna and Kirateswar and hence there arose a dispute for claim of the dead boar. In lieu of the prey, Arjuna begged Kirateswar for his favor for winning the battle against the Kauravas but Kirateswar declined the request rather committed to remain unbiased although he was inclined to Kauravas. It was believed that the help and favor of Kirateswar would be a winning weapon. Thus people still visit this sacred place with the hope of attaining salvation, peace and prosperity. Furthermore, they have faith in anticipation that having seen this place there would be forgiveness of sin.

It is believed that a visit to the place is enough to wash away one’s sins. Char Dham, which is situated in India in four different places like East Jagannath, West as Dwarika, South as Rameshawaram, North as Badrinath Dham, where especially Hindus consider the main pilgrimage centers. The Siddhesvara Dham project was started since 13th February 2005 and foundation stone was laid by Chief Minister Pawan Chamling. State government had sanctioned Rs. 99.56 crores for said project but the project completed at the cost of Rs.56.51 crores. The project was completed on 31st October 2011.

Shri Shirdi Sai Baba Temple 'Assangthang' South Sikkim

On 3rd Nov`2010 Sikkim bestowed a newly built Magnificent Shri Shirdi Sai Baba Temple at Assangthang, Namchi in South Sikkim.
The holy temple was inaugurated by the the Chief Minister, Dr Pawan Chamling and his wife Smt Tika Maya Chamling.
A day long inaugural program was initiated with a ‘Deep Prajwalan’ event by the Chief Guest.
Also, on this very occasion a Statue of Shri Shirdi Sai Baba was unveiled and made for public worship after chanting the holy mantras.
This was followed by a documentary film presentation on "Shri Shirdi Sai Baba - the Pilgrimage".
Bhakti programs were also carried by Bal Bikas Satya Sai Sanghathan Sikkim during the programme.

Guru Nanak’s teaching is understood to be practised in three ways:

Vaṇḍ Chakkō: Sharing with others, helping those with less who are in need
Kirat Karō: Earning/making a living honestly, without exploitation or fraud
Naam Japna: Chanting the Holy Name and thus remembering God at all times (ceaseless devotion to God)

Guru Nanak put the greatest emphasis on the worship of the Word of God (Naam Japna). One should follow the direction of awakened individuals (Gurmukh or God willed) rather than the mind (state of Manmukh- being led by Self will)- the latter being perilous and leading only to frustration.

Thanks a lot for sharing those wonderful pics with us. The telecast was in Telugu (State language of Andhra pradesh). Here is a small try to translate it for u ! Please don't mind for any mistakes or spelling errors.

In the first video = Firstly pooja is performed for prana prathishta.

An elderly man (his name was written as A. S Narayana coudn't read completely as the logo of the news channel blocked the view) spoke about Sri Shirdi Sai Baba’s aims . Baba’s aim was Samaanathvam- equality towards all humans, religion & caste, maanavathvam - humanity ,prema thathvam – that is to show prema/love towards all and have shradda & saburi

He spoke about how Baba felt happy when anyone helped those in misery, destitute or diseased. Or when someone fed the hunger.

He referred that Baba is Omnipresent, lives in all beings and he knows all that we do. His aura spread all over. Many devotees read his leelas & followed his path. Many started baba foundations to help the needy. The elderly man told that since Baba loved to treat the poor, in 1944 they opened Shirdi Sai Seva Mandir in Puduru (in Ranga Reddy district, Andhra Pradesh), which had various clinics - dental, eye, general etc., With Free treatment many got benefitted and felt happy.

They are conducting 10 – 15 free eye operations per week in near by hospitals. Some of the dental treatments are free and others are conducted at nominal charges of Rs 3/-.

They have opened these clinics in Krishna district , Nalgonda district, (both districts are in Andhra Pradesh), sanathnagar (in Hyderabad). Initially they started clinic in a small room with baba's picture, latter Mr. Chowdary garu from Natco pharmaceutical company offered to build a temple . At that time not many people around that place knew about Baba. Many people experienced Sri Sai Baba's leelas and started pouring into the temple offering prayers & coconuts. Devotees came there from the neighboring 25 villages.

Mr. Sreedhar Kalidindi from America noted the progress of the temple and clinics and volunteered to offer Baba’s idol. Sri Shirdi Sai Baba's Idol was made in Jaipur and brought to Puduru (in Ranga Reddy district, Andhra Pradesh) .

Prana prathishta & pooja were performed to the idol. People & priest of that temple felt that Sri Sai Baba's Idol ressembles the one in Shirdi.

See the present moment which is happening around you: the blue sky, giggles of children, sounds of birds, floating clouds and if what you can hear is just noise then even this noise will become rhythmic, just be in the moment. PICKPOCKET CAUGHT ON CCTV INSIDE SAI BABA TEMPLE @ SHIRDI -
12th Oct`2011
Shirdi Sai Baba Sansthan has been warning devotees to take care of their personal belongings when in Shirdi.
A recorded Message warning devotees to beware of Pickpockets is aired repeatedly over the speakers in the Temple premises.
Also, Message Boards Warning the same, have been placed inside & outside the Darshan waiting halls where devotees queue up.

To avoid Pickpocketing & other such untoward incidents, the Sansthan Trust has beefed up security at the Sai Temple
by installing CCTV's all around the Temple Premises and a new Biometric Facial Recognition technique
which can locate and alert the temple staff of the presence of thieves, pickpockets and even terrorists.
This new system will enable the uploading of pictures of such habitual offenders into the system
and whenever they come within the ambit of CCTV cameras, authorities will be alerted automatically.
The Shirdi Sansthan is also in constant touch with the Shirdi Police in-order to nab such offenders
who take advantage of the huge crowds standing in Queues for Darshan at the Sai Temple.

Thus, on Tuesday 11th Oct`2011, a Pickpocket was caught red handed @ Shirdi's Sai Baba Temple.
His entire act of Pick-pocketing inside the very Sanctum Sanctorum of the Shrine,
just besides Baba's Samadhi was captured by the CCTV Cameras installed.
As a result he was caught and handed over to the Shirdi Police Station
where a case has been registered against him.

His Modus Operandi: Uses a child along to push forward through the crowds
as if in a hurry for Baba's Darshan while smoothly pick pockets along.
After Darshan he would again be back in the Darshan Queue for the same obvious reasons.
He was caught with Rs.11,000/- in cash.
But due to absence of Stict-n-Stern laws,
such offenders are out of prison soon and back to their work again !

Hanuman Temple in Connaught Place, New Delhi

Hanuman Temple in Connaught Place, New Delhi, is an ancient (pracheen in Sanskrit) Hindu temple and is claimed to be one of the five temples of Mahabharata days in Delhi. The idol in the temple, devotionally worshipped as “Sri Hanuman Ji Maharaj” (Great Lord Hanuman), is that of Bala Hanuman namely, Hanuman as a child.

Reportedly, it was built originally by Maharaja Man Singh I of Amber (1540–1614) during Emperor Akbar’s (1542-1605) reign. It was reconstructed by Maharaja Jai Singh (1688-1743) in 1724, around the same time as the Jantar Mantar. After that the temple has undergone many improvements making it a notable religious centre in the heart of Central Delhi.

However, since the time of its construction, the Lord Hanuman Temple of New Delhi has undergone many restorations.

One of the highlights of the temple is the 24-hour chanting of the mantra Sri Ram, Jai Ram, Jai Jai Ram, since August 1, 1964. This continuous chanting has even secured a place in the Guinness Book of World Records

The temple, which has a self manifest idol of Hanuman, has an unusual feature fixed in the spire (Viman) in the form of a crescent moon (an Islamic symbol) instead of the Hindu symbol of Aum or Sun that is commonly seen in most Hindu temples. This became particularly important during the Mughal period corroborating this extraordinary depiction.

It is believed that Tulsidas (1532–1623), who wrote Ramacharitamanas (popularly known as Tulsi Ramayan and penned the famous Hanuman Chalisa hymns in praise of Hanuman, visited this temple in Delhi. During his visit to Delhi, Tulsidas was summoned by the Mughal Emperor and asked to perform a miracle, which he did with the blessings of Lord Hanuman. The Emperor was pleased with Tulsidas and presented the Hanuman temple with an Islamic crescent Moon finial which adorns the temple spire. It is also claimed that because of the crescent moon symbol on the spire, the temple was not destroyed by the Muslim rulers who invaded India at various times.

The temple’s main entrance gate known, as Dwar adores embossed artwork done by the skilled craftsmen is a testimony of the devotion. The complete epic of Ramayana had been depicted in this art form and the Dwar is said to be centuries old.

Historically, Delhi located on the banks of the Yamuna River has been stated to be the Indraprastha city built by Pandavas of the Mahabharata epic period. In the Mahabharata days, Pandavas ruled from Indraprastha and Kauravas from Hastinapur (two collateral families) as per a brokered partition of the Kuru empire. But, in a dice game, Pandavas lost their Kingdom and were exiled for a 12 year term and in the 13th year must remain in hiding (with a rider that if they were detected during this period they would undergo the exile denovo). Mythological legend states that during the Pandavas' exile (imposed by their cousin Duryodhana of the Kaurava dynasty), in order to subdue Bhima’s (second of the five Pandava brothers) arrogance, Hanuman considered to be the brother of Bhima (both Vayu's children, appeared in the forest disguised as a weak and aged monkey. Bhima, while in search of a fragrant flower sought by Draupadi in the forest, found Hanuman lying with his tail blocking his way and, unaware of Hanuman’s identity, scornfully asked him to remove his tail. But Hanuman told Bhima to lift the tail since being old he was unable to do it on his own. Bhima tried hard several times but failed to lift it, in spite of being a man of great strength. Bhima then realized that the monkey was none other his own brother, apologizes for his arrogant behavior and requests Hanuman to show him his true form. Hanuman was then said to have enlarged himself and showed Bhima the size in which he had crossed the sea to go to Lanka, looking for Sita during the Ramayana epic period. After the Pandavas won the Kurukshetra war against the Kauravas and re–established themselves in Indraprastha, the Pandava clan is stated to have built five temples of Hanuman and other deities.

There are five shrines in Delhi that are identified with Pandavas in their Indraprastha by the tradition. They are Yogamaya temple in Mehrauli, Kalkaji Maa Temple in Kalkaji, Bhairav Temple near Purana-killa (Old fort), Bhairav temple in Kalkaji, BalaHanuman Temple,Connaught Place near Jantar Mandir. It is believed that the shrines were built during more or less same period and all these idols are said to be swayambhuhu (self manifested ones)

As the idol of Hanuman faces the southern direction, devotees can discern only one eye of the idol. The idol depicts a Gada (mace or club) in the left hand with the right hand crossed across the chest showing veneration to the adjacent idol of lord Rama, Lakshmana and Sita. A tapering crown adorns the idol, which has a sacred thread on the right shoulder and is clad in a fashioned dhoti.

Its amazing to know how technology plays a major role in our lives. During my college days, I never had a cell phone but today mobile phones have become a necessity for most of us. From a growing teenager to a senior citizen , most of us carry a cell phone. I bought my very first cell phone abt 14-15 yrs ago and since then over the years , I have changed many cell phones and every time I get a new device- it excites me to experience the latest technology. Several months ago, I bought an android phone which has 7 home screens and for todays mail- I thought it would be great to share with all of you the wonderful apps that I have on one of my home screens. Just like I have made a small temple in my house- I have also transformed one of my home screens in to a temple. When ever I am alone driving, or working out in the gym or taking care of my daily chores- I go to that particular home screen and start listening /reciting ,- one be one - all my fav mantras.Infact I set my morning alarm in a way where I wake up with the sound of the shank and the sacred mantras. So for all those of you who have internet connected on their cell phones or have a blackberry, iphone, android phone, etc. These are a few apps which will surely help you to lower your stress in life and at the same time feel the bliss of positive energy around you.
