Ashtavinayak means "eight Ganeshas". The term Ashtavinayak also refers to a pilgrimage to the eight temples in Maharashtra that house eight idols of Ganesh viz. Ballaleshwar at Pali, Chintamani at Theur, Girijatmaj at Lenyadri ,Mahaganpati at Ranjangaon, Moreshwar at Morgaon, Siddhivinayak, at Siddhtek, Varad Vinayak at Mahad, Vighneshwar at Ozhar.
According to ancient religious scripts no life is complete without a pilgrimage to Astavinayak and first you have to visit Moreshwar of Moregaon. Then visit Siddhatek,Pali, Mahad, Theur, Lenyandri, Ozar, Ranjangaon and then again Moregaon will end you Ashtavinayak Yatra. However devotees now do not necessarily all follow this route...

Meaning
Who is giving good blessings with free hands, whose face is like an elephant, who destroyed the obstacles ( who defeated Vighnasur), who himself has deliverance, who appeared in many ways and whose greatness is countless, who is superior Lord, who destroys the obstacles of devotees, who gives happiness, who is expert in all arts, who stays at Ozar. I wish to concentrate my mind on that great God.

OZAR- Shree Vighneshwar! One more place in Ashtavinayaka from Junner Taluka and Pune District is Ozar. The Ganesh is called as Shree Vighneshwar.
The temple of Vigneshwar of Ozar is on the bank of river Kukadi. The pinnacle of the temple is made up of gold. This is the only temple among the Ashatavinayaka which has gold pinnacle.

The legend
The King of Hemavati, Shri Abhinandana once performed a great sacrifice. Indra thought that this sacrifice if completed would deprive him of his post. Hence, he ordered Kala (time) to create obstacles in the sacrifice and then destroyed it. The fierce looking Kala not only destroyed that sacrifice but also other sacrifices and created obstacles for Sages and others. Hence people called him Vighna. Slowly all vedic rites were reduced and dharma disappeared from earth. Then all Gods worshipped Gajanana and requested him to save the world from Vighneshvar. Then Ganapati took his Avatar as the son of Sage Parshva and his wife Dîpavatsala. Gods headed by Lord Shiva came to Parshva and requested him to relieve Ganapati for having a war with Vighnâsura. Sage Parshva was reluctant, but Ganapati convinced him and with his permission proceeded to the Asura's abode. He sent his Ankush (Hook) which caught hold of Vighnâsura and brought him before Gods. But the Asura assumed many forms like cyclones, flood, fire, etc. Vinayaka destroyed all such mayas (illusions). Finally, when he found that his power and tactics will not succeed, Vighnâsura fell at the feet of Ganapati and asked for refuge. He requested that Ganapati should take his name along with his own. Vinayaka accepted his request and hence is called as Vighneshvara or Vighnarâja.Ganapati also ordered him as follows. "Whoever chants this name of mine will attain what he desires. Wherever I am not remembered before beginning a work you bring obstacles in their work. If any creature inclusive of Shiva and Vishnu gets proud and egoistic, you take away their post. You never harass my devotees but obstruct their offenders."

Temple of Shree Vighneshwar is facing towards East. It is enclosed from all sides by big stone walls. Once entered in the temple, one can see two chandelier (dipa-mala). Those are lighted on Tripuri Poornima. At the entrance of main temple Bhaldar Chopdar are carved in the stone (watchmen of the temple). Once entered from the main door one can see two verandas on both sides. Each one is 25 feet long and 8 feet wide.
Under one veranda basement is there where chandelier, lampshades, palakhi are kept. Inside the temple, there are two pandals one after another. At the entrance of pandal there is a mouse made up of black stone. After entering through two pandals, there is a third pandal where Lord Vighneshwar's idol is installed.

Chimaji Appa (brother of first Bajirao Peshwa) built the golden pinnacle after winning the battle at Vasai.
May Shree Vigneshwar (Vignahara) of Ozar bless us all by making all our wishes come true ..
When someone scolds, weep not child dear
Cause your cheeks may turn pink-petal color
You are sweet, lack nothing dear
If piqued by someone bad, do not vent anger
Keep smiling, O ! My little little child
'cause no one on this earth,
except you is so good,
These soothing words lit confidence in the child
In quest of Baba, love overflowed
Child began admiring, "Baba, our dearest"
And pleaded Baba, be with me always closest.
