One step closer to Brahma Gyaan

One step closer to Brahma gyan:::: A 'devotee' goer wrote a letter to the editor of a newspaper and complained that it made no sense to go to the Temple . 'I've gone for 30 years now, he wrote, and in that time I have heard something like 3,000 mantras. But for the life of me, I can't remember a single one of them. So, I think I'm wasting my time and the Gurus are wasting theirs by giving services at all. This started a real controversy in the 'Letters to the Editor' column, much to the delight of the editor. It went on for weeks until someone wrote this clincher: I've been married for 30 years now. In that time my wife has cooked some 32,000 meals. But, for the life of me, I cannot recall the entire menu for a single one of those meals. But I do know this... They all nourished me and gave me the strength I needed to do my work. If my wife had not given me these meals, I would be physically dead today. Likewise, if I had not gone to the Temple for nourishment, I would be spiritually dead today! When you are DOWN to nothing.... God is UP to something! Faith sees the invisible, believes the incredible and receives the impossible! Thank God for our physical AND our spiritual nourishment! ------------------------------ So easy to beat yourself up over mistakes you've made. So many amongst us live in the past rather than loving the present and building a brilliant future. Some people stay stuck for years over something they did or a failure they've experienced. Sad. A life is a terrible thing to waste. But let me ask you a question: "is there really such a thing as a mistake?" First of all, no one tries to fail or mess things up. Every one of us wakes up in the morning, walks out into the world and does the best we can do based on what we know and the skills we have. But even more importantly, every so-called "mistake' is actually a rich source of learning. An opportunity to build more awareness and understanding and gain precious experience. Experience that will help us do, feel and be even better. So, just maybe, there are no mistakes. Just maybe what we could call failures are actually growth lessons in wolf's clothing. And just maybe the person who experiences the most wins. ---------------------- A sick man turned to his doctor as he was preparing to Leave the examination room and said, 'Doctor, I am afraid to die. Tell me what lies on the other side.' Very quietly, the doctor said, 'I don't know.' 'You don't know? You, a Christian man, Do not know what is on the other side?' The doctor was holding the handle of the door; On the other side came a sound of scratching and whining, And as he opened the door, a dog sprang into the room And leaped on him with an eager show of gladness. Turning to the patient, the doctor said, 'Did you notice my dog? He's never been in this room before. He didn't know what was inside. He knew nothing except that his master was here, And when the door opened, he sprang in without fear. I know little of what is on the other side of death, But I do know one thing... I know my Master is there and that is enough.' ------------------------------- A boy and a girl were playing together. The boy had a collection of marbles. The girl had some sweets with her. The boy told the girl that he will give her all his marbles in exchange for her sweets. The girl agreed. The boy kept the biggest and the most beautiful marble aside and gave the rest to the girl. The girl gave him all her sweets as she had promised. That night, the girl slept peacefully. But the boy couldn't sleep as he kept wondering if the girl had hidden some sweets from him the way he had hidden his best marble. Moral of the story: If you don't give your hundred percent in a relationship, you'll always keep doubting if the other person has given his/her hundred percent.. This is applicable for any relationship like love, employer-employee relationship, friendship etc., Give your hundred percent to everything you do and sleep peacefully ---------------------- The tragedy of life is not death, but what we let die inside us while we live. When u were born, the world rejoiced while u cried,-live ur life in such a way that when you die,-the world cries while u rejoice.. -------------------------------- Your days are your life in miniature. As you live your days, so you craft your life. What you do today is actually creating your future. The words you speak, the thoughts you think, the food you eat and the actions you take are defining your destiny – shaping who you are becoming and what your life will stand for. There's no such thing as an unimportant day. Each of us is called to greatness. Each of us has an exquisite power within us. But for this power to grow, we need to use it. The more you exercise it each day, the stronger it gets. The more this power gets tapped, the more confident you grow. The best among us are not more gifted than the rest. They just take small steps each day as they march towards their biggest life. And the days slip into weeks, the weeks into months and before they know it, they arrive at a place called Extraordinary. ----------------------------- If you can not respect , love , care about ,stand by or be honest with your own parents ,-who gave birth to you and were the very first people who fell in love with you -- then whether you accept this or not but you do not love anyone else in this world either with all your heart and soul ....and time will show that none of your children will stand by you either- when you will need them the most.. ----------------------------------- If you sit with a person who is smoking, even without ur knowledge- You will end up inhaling second hand smoke. In the same way, if you be in the company of saints who constantly preach about the importance of doing good karma-, automatically even without ur knowledge- u will end up doing a lot of positive and humble deeds. If you be in the company of a person who keeps saying bad words and abusing others then then obviously whether u like it or not -- u will end up being the same kind of person sooner or later. And if u constantly listen to Gods name, his praises, his bhajans-even without you being aware of it - the words that will come out of your mouth will be nothing but the nectar of love and bliss. So be in the company of God and even without your knowledge-You will find him seated in your heart - talking to you and finding solutions to ur problems and worries. You just need to take one step towards Him and He will take 100 steps towards you.. By Deepa H inspired by Sai -------------------------------------------- Always tell someone that you love them because you never know what day Will be their last, or your own. Always seek to resolve your problems or disagreements with loved ones Because if either of you should pass on before, the one who is left alive will have the rest of their life to ponder those unresolved feelings but will never find closure. And closure usually brings Peace... ......................................................................................With lots of good wishes and regards to all from Deepa H and family [ debu7366@yahoo.com ] ...............May Sai always give us peace of mind and May he always make us feel His presence where ever we go.... For all those who wish to do Sai Seva and distribute pictures of Saibaba to Sai devotees living all over the world.

The below mail was sent to me by Sai devotee Ramesh Nagisetty
Om Sai Ram Deepaji,
There is no difference between Saibaba and his picture. If you have Baba's picture at home you have BABA at home. If you leave your problems and ask for his help, He is there to help you. I have got a thought to do this service in 2003 July and it is getting materialised in Jan 2011. By the grace of BABA , - group of Sai devotees from different parts of the world have joined together and are becoming part of the program. Please see our blogspot
http://shirdisaiseva.wordpress.com/
The idea is to distribute 1 picture per family.
India 300 million pictures to cover 300 million families
Abroad 700 million pictures to cover 700 million families. In abroad program in Phase 1 we should cover 25 million PIOs and NRIs across the globe.
I need your help in getting message to Sai devotees who will comeforward to distribute Baba pictures to their friends relatives or Indian Associations, or Language Associations like Telugu Association /Tamil Association /Punjabi Association etc., in their city after getting approval from them. Also in Hindu Temples or Sai Temples etc., after getting approval.
The pictures will be printed in Hyderabad ,India and will be sent by Sea Mail to reduce costs. Usually they may take 6/8 Weeks. Everything is free. In case a Temple wants to charge $1 or $2 per picture and use the resources for their maintenance upkeep they are encouraged to do so.As it brings some money for the temple.
We need devotees in US/Canada/UK/Australia/Newzeland/Europe/Africa/Pakistan/Bangladesh Nepal/Middle East/China/Japan/Singapore/Malaysia/Indonesia/Philippines/South America or anywhere else outside India to do this service for the benefit of Humanity.
Coming back to India. we need to cover all 600,000 villages Towns and cities and it is door to door. If some one has relatives in India who can do this service door to door in his village or town they are welcome and pictures will be sent to them by post through the Grace of Saibaba and Lord Vishnu.
I need a help from you to spread message to your known contacts who are interested in distributing Saibaba's pictures abroad as well as in India.
Also please go through our website and inform whether we can add your websites as links and whether our blogspot can be added as a link in your website.
Regards

Happiness Unbounded
Man always wants to be in a state of happiness. He would develop petty desires and aspirations and is elated when they are fulfilled. He gets delighted to see the plant raised by him starts budding. If a child gets through the exam, joy of parents knows no bounds. These are little joys. At play, a kid would talk at length to his dolls. He would store many such articles with love and care which we consider worthless. We laugh at the child's behaviour, because we know that the things he stores have no value. In our eyes the boy is innocent and ignorant. Are we not accumulating wealth in the form of houses, land, plots by selfishly thinking all the while about our family and earnings? Having earned all the assets, are we going to remain here forever? No, never! We are the children of God. He would think of our behaviour as "childish" and laughs at us. So, we must realize that pure bliss is not found in these perishable material objects but in the divine presence which is eternal. That is the ocean of bliss and what flows through it is ambrosia of love. Is not life worthless when we do not strive to partake of the bliss? Baba used to chuckle "My Treasure is stacked with jewels of wisdom but there is none to take it". The essence of human life is to reach God who is the other form of pure bliss. Let us pray to Baba to bless us with deep desire to reach Him.

Miracles are Miracles- Some believe in them and some dont. Some have goosebumps after seeing them and some just try to find a logical reason behind it. Here is one such latest miracle that happened recently at a Sai temple in Hyderabad.
Great miracle at Dilushknagar Saibaba Temple in Hyderabad , AP
3rd Feb 2011:
Thousands of Shirdi Sai Baba devotees thronged the famous Dilsukhnagar Sai Baba temple on Thursday following reports that a “divine light” had been seen in the temple premises.
Traffic came to a halt on the busy Dilsukhnagar road for several hours as thousands of devotees rushed to the temple to perform special pujas to Sai Baba. Describing the “divine light” as Sai Jyoti, some devotees said that Sai Baba himself had manifested in the temple while others termed it as a “miracle”. The temple, attracted more than 30,000 devotees on Thursday, which was a record of sorts and TV news channels deployed scores of OB vans near the temple.
Several local news channels aired visuals of the “divine light” throughout the day, said to be recorded by CCTV cameras installed in the temple premises. However, the temple authorities claimed the “divine light” was recorded by the CCTV cameras on January 13, 16 and 20 after the temple had closed at 10 pm. They said the “divine light” had appeared at different times in the night during those three days but they had maintained “secrecy” as they did not want the temple to run into “unnecessary controversies.”The TV visuals showed the “divine light” appearing near the main gate of the temple inside the premises for a few minutes. It hovered around the place for sometime where the box containing “Sai Baba vibuthi” was placed before it disappeared. Meanwhile, some rationalist associations claimed that the “miracle” was due to some “technical problems” in the cameras.

Our body is the Temple of Soul
The wise say that the body of man is the Temple of Soul. We have to clean and purify our body to make it fit for God to dwell in it. He would not stay in the sky or in the distant heaven. He would remain where the saints, the devotees and the soft- hearted people pray, meditate and worship Him. A temple does not mean a big structure. The pure heart of devotees is the real temple. Hence, we should live by chanting God's Name and singing His Glory. There is no need to carry head-load of brick and stone to raise a huge building as a house of worship for Baba. He would appear before the faithful and the upright wherever they gather and meditate on Him. It could be a small room, a hallway, a four-way junction or still be a river bank or even under a tree in the forest. To invite Baba into our hearts, devotion and faith are necessary, but not incantation of mantras. There is no need for a building built of brick, stone and mortar but a heart with patience and faith is enough for Him to dwell. Human heart itself is a sacred temple raised for Baba to dwell in. Let us install Baba, the Merciful Father, with love and dedication, in our purified hearts. He would keep all His devotees in His heart. The heart of a devotee is full of Baba's Love and His Form, while Baba's heart is an assemblage of His devotees.

Self-Realization Only Through Baba's Grace
Baba is the manifestation of Absolute Reality. He bestows on us Self-Liberation. He is the Almighty One, who can grant us the Divine Presence, liberates us from the cycle of birth-death-rebirth and blesses us with Godhood. The Holy Trinity, viz., Brahma-Vishnu-Maheswara respectively represents creation, sustenance and destruction. The blessed couple Sage Athri and Anasuya prayed to God for a son who embodies the Trinity of God. Then, the spirit of triumvirate combined into one incarnated as Dattatreya on the Earth, with the mission of destroying ignorance and leading the humanity towards self-realization. Thereafter, in the Kaliyuga, Dattatreya incarnated in several forms like Sripada Srivallabha, Nrusimha Saraswathi, Manik Prabhu, Akkalkot Maharaj, Sai Baba and has been enlightening the human mind. When we seek Baba's grace, our sins get absolved and ignorance wiped out. Similar to the cluster of clouds getting dispersed by the gust of wind, the love of Baba will dispel all our sins. People blessed with Baba's Love will witness their lives filled with the light of delight as a wonderful gift of Baba. It is certainly a great experience to know Baba's philosophy which is a treasure of joy. Indeed it is our great fortune to realize that Baba is our Friend, who guides us and the Father who always protects us.

Shri Shirdi Sai speaks-25th feb/Shri Lord Vishnu Charan Paduka/Shri Lakshmi Ganesha Yantra/Shree Kaalsarp Yantra

Lately, I have been receiving a lot of mails from many Sai devotees that they have not been getting these mails everyday.Plz accept my applogy for not being consistent in sending the Shri Shirdi Sai speaks mails on time since the past couple of months. Its just that my work, my job, my prior commitments and sometimes my health have been taking most of my time and energy- I am trying my best to manage it all and I hope I do succeed. I will surely try to send Baba's message everyday.
Several years ago, I had circulated the pictures of Shri Shirdi Sai Siddhi Yantra and even today, some one or the other will send me a request for the above.. So once again after all these years, today I am posting pictures of not only the Shri Shirdi Sai Siddhi Yantra but also pictures of other yantras..
A Yantra is a figure or a diagram usually made in copper. If you are able to find the below in copper- well, thats great but if not , then you can print out the below pictures until you are able to replace it with the actual yantra made of copper.
Yantra is considered the simplest and the shortest path , through which one can fulfill his desires and wishes. Regularly performing worship to the 'Deities' residing in the Yantras will result in fulfillment of their desires, as it removes the negative effects of planets, and increases the flow of positive energies.
Below are pictures of a few yantras. And like I always say, some people have faith in them while others think they are just a form of blind faith so I leave it upto you to decide which side of the coin you belong to. But as for me, for a couple of days, I will be posting pictures of different yantras with a hope that it might help some of you with your problems in life..
Keep this yantra in your home temple, in your office temple, almirah, or anywhere where financial transactions are made.Lay fresh flowers on the yantra, Light the incense ,Worship the yantra by reading beej mantra, Close your eyes and concentrate on the deity to bless you with good wishes. With sincerity, ask God to grant you the desire of your life that you wanted to be fulfilled. Worship regularly! You will surely get the result.
[Click on any of the below pictures to see the larger view or to save it to ur pc]
Incase you have missed the prior mail about other Siddhi Yantras- Click to the below link

Shri Lord Vishnu Charan Paduka
Shri Lord Vishnu Charan Paduka means foot steps of lord Vishnu. It is assumed that where there is Lord Vishnu's Charan Paduka ,there will also be Godess Lakshmi “Goddess of Wealth” . Lord Vishnu also called the preserver god of the Trinity . He has four hands. The first holds a milky white conch shell (sankha) indicating spread of the divine sound "Om"; one holds a lotus (Padma) which is an example of glorious existence, one holds a discus (chakra)- a reminder of the wheel of time and to lead a good life, and the fourth hand holds a mace (gada) indicating the power and the punishing capacity of the Lord , if discipline in life is ignored..
Regularly worshiping Lord Vishnu Charan Paduka Yantra, removes all obstacles in ones’s life and gets success and achievements in all fields of their life.
Shri Lakshmi Ganesha Yantra
Lord Laxmi and Lord Ganesha reside in this yantra This Yantra removes negative effects and ease New beginnings in one’s life.Regular upasana & puja of the Ganesha Yantra blesses one with success in his work, business, undertaking & desires. In India Ganesha pooja is a must before starting any new work or business and Ganesha Pooja can be performed through ganesha yantra. This Yantra is usually embossed on a copper square plate and is specially energised to radiate its beneficial powers. It can be placed in your temple at home, on your worktable or in your cash box.
Shree Kaalsarp Yantra
Kalsarp Yantra is mainly used for removing negative effects of the Kaal Sarp in your birth chart ,regularly worshiping brings prosperity, harmony and fulfillment of all wishes, this yantra reduces all the ill-effects of Kaal Sarpa yoga. People having Kaal Sarp Dosha in there birh chart shall perform Pooja on the sacred day of Naag-Panchmi as well as establish Kaal Sarp Yantra in their house to protect themselves from the evil effect of this Dosha..
Beej Mantra for this Yantra :- "Om Triyambhakam Yajamahey, Sungandhim Pushti Vardanam Uruvarukamiva Bandhanan, Mrityor Muksheeya Mamritat
Our Duty is to Show the Path of Light
A wise man will understand the divine ways of God and will walk in the right path. One who does not discriminate between good and bad of his actions will tread the dark path of ignorance. The person moving in the right path will try to bring even the one in darkness into the bright path. A person travelling in the night, for a safe and secure journey, has to follow the one who holds a torch. If possible, he has to lead another person by holding his hand. So, man should first practice the Presence of God. To realize God, one must have the grace of God. Therefore, we should implore with faith and devotion 'Baba! Please help me'. Baba will bless those who earnestly seek Him. In the path lit by the Light of Divine Wisdom, a person could easily cross over the dark sea of worldly life. It is our bounden duty to share with all, the wonderful stories of Baba that give delight and sense of immortality. Dasganu Maharaj spread the joy he experienced by Baba's grace in the entire state of Maharastra in the form of stories, narrated in song and made several people purified in the stream of Sai devotion. He had been blessed and made several other souls blessed too. Let us consider all people as our brothers and sisters and lead them all in the Light of Baba's Love and Teachings. We have to share our happiness with others.

We have all heard about Mt. Kailash but very few of us have seen and felt the divine sacredness of this holy mountain. In today's teerth yatra lets see some of the wonderful pictures of Mt. Kailash and hope that perhaps one day, we can go there and offer our pranams at this Divine and Sacred abode of Lord Shiva
To the Hindus, the Himalayas are central to their cosmology. The peaks are the petals of the Golden Lotus which lord Vishnu created as a first step in the formation of the universe. On one of these peaks – Mount Kailash, sits Shiva in a state of perpetual meditation, generating the spiritual force that sustains the cosmos. Of the three worlds–patala (netherworld), prithvi (earth) and swargalok (heaven)–only Shiva lives on this planet and Mount Kailash is his abode.
Apparently Mount Kailash was discovered by king Gurlamandhata, after whom the highest Mt. Gurula (Mamonani) is named. At 22,027 ft, is said to have been formed 30 million years ago during the early stages of the formation of the Himalayan chain. In geological terms, Kailash stands alone, the world’s largest deposit of tertiary conglomerate.
The Vishnu Purana (approx 200 BCE) described how the world is made up of seven continents ringed by seven oceans — “The central continent has Meru at its core, bounded by three mountain ranges to the north and three to the south. One of these ranges is the Himalayan barrier, interposed between Meru and ‘Bharatha’, the Indian subcontinent. Meru, the center, is Mount Kailash.
Kailash means "Treasure or Saint of Snow Mountain" in Tibetan. The name originates from the year-round snow on its peak and its historical religious connections. The mountain is sometimes called "Mother of Iceberg". It appears to be gazing at another mountain, Namcha Barwa, or "Father of Iceberg" in the far distance. Mt. Kailash is the highest peak in the massive Gangdise mountain range with an altitude over 6,600 meters (21654 ft.). The peak is very pointed and looks like a pyramid piercing the sky. Seen from the south the vertical ice trough and horizontal rock formation combine as the Buddhist symbol Swastika, which represents the eternal power of Buddha. More often that not, clouds will gather above the peak, so clear days are thought to be a blessing because local residents can get an unimpeded view.
Mt. Kailash 6714m is the most sacred mountain in Asia. It is believed to be the physical embodiment of the mythical Mt Meru, said to be the center of the universe or ‘navel of the world’ . Mt. Kailash is described with reverence as the abode of Lord Shiva who is revered as the destroyer and transformer of the Hindu Triad and his divine consort Parvati. This extraordinary mountain is regarded as the 'heart of the universe' by Hindus, Buddhists, the Jains and the Bons.. For Hindus, Mt. Kailash is abode of Shiva and the near by Mansarovar is the soul of Brahma, Tibetans call Kailash Kang Rimpoche and followers of Bon-Po, the ancient pre- Buddhist shamanistic religion of Tibet, regard Kailas as the soul of Tibet, Jains worship it as Mt Ashtapada, the peak from which the religion’s founder, Rishabanatha, achieved spiritual liberation.
Hindus believe Mt.Kailash to be the abode of Lord Shiva. For a Hindu, to make the arduous pilgrimage to Kailash and have the darshan (divine view) of Shiva's abode is to attain release from the clutches of ignorance and delusion.
The Jains call the mountain Astapada and believe it to be the place where Rishaba, the first of the twenty-four Tirthankaras attained liberation. Followers of Bon, Tibet's pre-Buddhist, shamanistic religion, call the mountain Tise and believe it to be the seat of the Sky Goddess Sipaimen. Additionally, Bon myths regard Tise as the sight of a legendary 12th century battle of sorcery between the Buddhist sage Milarepa and the Bon shaman Naro Bon-chung. Milarepa's defeat of the shaman displaced Bon as the primary religion of Tibet, firmly establishing Buddhism in its place. While the Buddha is believed to have magically visited Kailash in the 5th century BC, the religion of Buddhism only entered Tibet, via Nepal and India, in the 7th century AD. Tibetan Buddhists call the mountain Kang Rimpoche, the 'Precious One of Glacial Snow', and regard it as the dwelling place of Demchog (also known as Chakrasamvara) and his consort, Dorje Phagmo. Three hills rising near Kang Rimpoche are believed to be the homes of the the Bodhisatvas Manjushri, Vajrapani, and Avalokiteshvara.
Pilgrims to Kailash, after the difficult journey getting there, are then confronted with the equally arduous task of circumambulating the sacred peak. This walking around the mountain (clockwise for the Buddhists, counter-clockwise for Bon adherents) is known as a Kora, or Parikrama, and normally takes three days. In hopes of gaining extra merit or psychic powers however, some pilgrims will vary the tempo of their movement. A hardy few, practicing a secret breathing technique known as Lung-gom, will power themselves around the mountain in only one day. Others will take two to three weeks for the Kora by making full body prostrations the entire way. It is believed that a pilgrim who completes 108 journeys around the mountain is assured enlightenment. Most pilgrims to Kailash will also take a short plunge in the nearby, highly sacred (and very cold) Lake Manosaravar.
The word 'manas' means mind or consciousness; the name Manosaravar means Lake of Consciousness and Enlightenment. Adjacent to Manosaravar is Rakas Tal or Rakshas, the Lake of Demons. Pilgrimage to this great sacred mountain and these two magical lakes is a life changing experience and an opportunity to view some of the most magical scenery on the entire planet.
Walking around the mountain is a popular ceremony despite the length and difficult terrain. According to the sayings of Buddhism, one circle around the mountain can atone for all the sins committed throughout one's lifetime. Completing ten circles around the mountain will prevent eternal damnation of hell tribulation in one's reincarnations of 500 years. Completing one hundred circles will make a person one with Buddha. While walking, Buddhists follow clockwise while Bonists proceed in a counter-clockwise direction. In the horse year when Sakyamuni, the founder of Buddhism, is said to be born, worshippers get credit for thirteen circles for every one completed. Naturally, these years draw the largest number of tourists.

One circle around the mountain is 52 km (32.31 mi.) long and takes about three days. Because of the high altitude, weather changes frequently.
While proceeding downwards from Dolma - La (Dolma Pass), a steep descent will lead you to Gauri Kund at 5608 m. Some call it the ‘Lake of compassion’.Gauri Kund is connected with Shiva's wife Parvati, also known as Gauri in various parts of India. In Hindu folklore, Gauri committed Herself to penance involving many ascetic and yogic practices to win over Shiva's affections. Local tradition claims that Gauri Kund is the spot where Gauri lived while carrying out these practices and it was here that Shiva finally admitted His love for Her. They were finally married at Triyugi Narayan, which is not too far away. This pilgrimage site boasts of a natural hot spring and this is one of the reasons that supposedly prompted Gauri to pick this as a place to indulge in hard penance.
This place is also associated with the legend of how Ganesha acquired his elephant head. While bathing in the kund, Goddess Parvati fashioned Ganesha from the soap suds on Her body, breathed life into Him and placed Him at the entrance as Her guard. Lord Shiva happened to arrive at the spot suddenly and He was stopped by Ganesha. Indignant at this affront, Shiva cut off Ganesha's head and Parvati was inconsolable. She insisted that the boy be brought back to life and Shiva took the head of a wandering elephant and placed it on Ganesha's body. Parvati had Her son back and Ganesha acquired the persona by which He is known all over the Hindu world since then.
Holy Mansarovar lake is stunningly set on the Tibetan plateau at an elevation of 4510m, and bordered by the majestic Gurla Mandata is more important to Hindus than to Buddhists. To complete the revered Mt. Kailash Yatra, Hindu pilgrims make 85km. circuit around Manasarovar crossing streams. Hindus has strong faith that the ritual bath will deliver a pilgrim to Brahm's paradise and drink of its water releases the sins of a hundred lifetimes.
Myth & Mystery
According to Hindu mythology, Shiva, the god of destruction and regeneration, resides at the summit of a legendary mountain named Kailāśā. Mount Kailāśā is regarded in many sects of Hinduism as Paradise, the ultimate destination of souls and the spiritual center of the world
According to a description in the Puranas, Mount Kailash's four faces are made of crystal, ruby, gold, and lapis lazuli; it is the pillar of the world; rises 84,000 leagues high; is the center of the world mandala; and is located at the heart of six mountain ranges symbolizing a lotus. From it flow four rivers, which stretch to the four quarters of the world and divide the world into four regions.
This legendary mountain has long been identified with the striking peak in the Himalayas that now bears its name. Shiva is therefore believed to dwell at its summit. Some traditions say the mountain is Shiva's linga, while Lake Manasarowar is the yoni of his consort.
Tibetan Buddhists believe that Kailash is the home of the Buddha Demchok (also known as Demchog or Chakrasamvara), who represents supreme bliss. They also say it was on this sacred mountain that Buddhism displaced Bön as the primary religion of Tibet.
According to legend, Milarepa, champion of Tantric Buddhism, arrived in Tibet to challenge Naro-Bonchung, representative of Bön. The two magicians engaged in a great sorcerous battle, but neither was able to gain a decisive advantage.
Finally, it was agreed that whoever could reach the summit of Kailash first would be the victor. While Naro-Bonchung soared up the slope on a magic drum, Milarepa's followers were dumbfounded to see him sitting still and meditating. Yet when Naro-Bonchung was nearly at the top, Milarepa suddenly moved into action and overtook him by riding on the rays of the sun, thus winning the contest and bringing Buddhism to Tibet.
In Jainism, Kailash is known as Mount Ashtapada and is the site where the founder of their faith, Rishabhadeva, attained liberation from rebirth.
In Bön, the religion which predates Buddhism in Tibet, the mountain is believed to be the abode of the sky goddess Sipaimen.
No pilgrims climb Mt. Kailash; all four religions believe it would be a serious act of sacrilege to set foot on its slopes. Legend has it that the only person to have reached the summit is the Buddhist champion Milarepa (who flew to the top in the 12th century) and that all others who have ventured to defy the taboo have died in the process.
The mountain is located in a particularly remote and inhospitable area of the Tibetan Himalayas. Only those in the best health are able to undertake the journey even to the starting point of the circumambulation, let alone walk 52 km in a single day. A few modern amenities, such as benches, resting places and refreshment kiosks, exist to aid the pilgrims in their devotions.
Most pilgrims and trekkers take three days to complete the journey around Mount Kailash from the city of Darchen, aiming for Drirapuk Monastery on the first night, crossing Dolma La Pass and arriving at Zutrulpuk Monastery the second night, and finally returning to Darchen on the third day.

My Humble pranams to this sacred and divine abode of Lord Shiva
Lake Mansarova lies about 20 km (12.43 mi.) southeast of Mt. Kailash. It means Invincible Jade Lake in Tibetan. The name originates from a story that Buddhism wins a victory against Bon in a religious match beside the lake. The lake is the same "Jade Pool of Western Kingdom" described by the high monk Xuanzang of the Tang Dynasty (618-907) in his Westward Diary.
The altitude of the lake is about 4,588 meters (15,052.49 ft.), making it one of the highest fresh water lakes in the world. The water is very limpid and bright. The Hindu legend has that it is the amrita designed by the great god Brahma that can wash away all one's sins as well as any anxiety or improper thoughts. Many pilgrims bathe in the lake and take some water back as a gift to their relatives and friends. The surrounding area is the point of origin for India's two most famous rivers, the Indus and the Ganges. Walking around the lake also has ceremonial value for the Tibetan and always follows clockwise. There are many temples along the way, the two most notable being the Jiwu and the Chugu.Walking around the lake one circle takes about 4 days, 90 km. (55.92 mi.) long in all. Wading in the cold steams along the way is a bit challenging
May this sacred Mt. Kailash bless us with the glimpse of Brahm's paradise and May the holy sip of the waters of Lake Mansarovar release our sins of a hundred lifetimes.

However, for some unknown reasons, there has been a concerted effort on some part of the Council to close the temple.Temple application will be heard at planning committee meet on Wednesday 23rd Feb 2011 at 7 PM at Brent town hall (Forty Lane, Wembley, Middlesex, HA9 9HD) committee rooms 2nd floor. We all have lost some one or the other in our lives but lets forget about that pain and lets be thankful to Sai for the loved ones that we still have around us. Lets not take them for granted or assume that they know that you love them. Take care of your loved ones and be happy with what ever Sai has given you. Learn to count your blessings instead of your misfortunes and bad luck. What is gone -might never return but what we have today is our loved ones- love them back and make your present with them into beautiful memories for tomorrow to come.

We become Obedient by getting rid of Arrogance
We cannot understand God owing to our deep-rooted pride and arrogance. Our pride and arrogance obstruct us from attaining the highest state of total surrender to God and to plead, 'I have none other than You. I take refuge in you. You, the Omnipresent One, please protect me by showering Your grace on me'. We cannot get the grace of Baba with an ego-bloated mind. All our troubles and losses are only meant to release our minds from the hold of arrogance. It is but natural for humans to lose faith in God when something goes against their will. When we do not make an effort to remove our vices, they cause troubles and totally pollute our psychic energy. Although, at times, we feel like making our heart stone-like to withstand pains caused by these bad qualities, it is not the right solution. Our hearts need to get more softened. All our troubles and problems would then melt in it. However, not every day would be the same always. One who prides himself that he does not require anyone's help as long as he is physically fit may be forced one day to rely on others and seek their help, much against his ego, if he falls seriously sick. Likewise, in times of adversity, many would pray to Baba, 'I have none else but You the Saviour'. Instead of waiting for troubled times to come, is it not wise to seek Baba's shelter and grace while everything is in good order.
