The one who is in search of happiness, whose mind is wavering like God Brahma, who is in the middle of all calamities should go to Sthavar means Theur & worship Shree Chintamani & get rid of all Chintas(worries).
God Brahma meditated here to subdue his wavering mind. Theur is the nearest place of Ashtavinayak from Pune.

The temple is located 22 km from Pune, off the Pune-Solapur highway, and is hence the nearest from Pune. The village of Theur sits at the confluence of three major regional rivers—Mula, Mutha & Bhima.
Ganesha is believed to have got back the precious Chinatamani jewel from the greedy Guna for sage Kapila at this spot. However, after bringing back the jewel, sage Kapila put it in Vinayaka’s (Ganesha’s) neck. Thus the name Chintamani Vinayak. This happened under the Kadamb tree, therefore Theur is known as Kadambanagar in old times.
The lake behind the temple is called Kadambteertha. The temple entrance is North facing. The outer wooden hall is built by Peshwas. The main temple is supposed to have been built by Dharanidhar Maharaj Dev from the family-lineage of Shri Moraya Gosavi. He must have built this around 100 years before Senior Shrimant Madhavrao Peshwa built the outer wooden hall.

The legend
Long time back, king Abhijeet and his wife queen Gunavati performed penances for several years on the advice of Sage Vaishampayan. So, they got a son called Gana who later on became popular as "Ganarâja". Ganarâja was as furious as he was brave and valorous. Once, after a hunting expedition, he came to Kapila Rishi's Ashram for taking rest. Sage Kapila fed the entire retinue with tastiest food, obtained thanks to a jewel called Chintamani. The jewel Chintamani was given to the Sage by king of Gods Indra. Being impressed by the power of the jewel, greedy Ganarâja asked Sage Kapila to give it to him. When Kapila refused, Ganarâja took away the Chintamani by force. Sage Kapila was sorely disappointed. Goddess Durga adviced Kapila to worship Lord Ganesh. Being happy with Kapila's worship, Lord Ganesh promised him to return back the jewel. Ganesh and Ganarâja had a fierced battle near tree Kadamba. Lord Ganesh killed Ganarâja with his axe. Thus Sage Kapila got his Jewel and adorned Ganesh with Chintamani. Since then, Lord Ganesh is called Chintamani and as these incidents took place below a Kadamba tree, the village around was called Kadamba Thirtha.

Another story:
King of gods Indra was attracted towards Sage Gautam's beautful wife Ahilya. Once the sage was out for bath, God Indra in disguise of sage Gautam had pleasure with Ahilya. On returning to hermitage, sage Gautam by his inner power realised the fact. Seething with rage sage Gautam cursed God Indra. Because of the curse God Indra had thousands of holes in his body. God Indra pleaded for mercy. Sage Gautam asked him to worship Lord Ganesha to get rid of the curse. God Indra performed penance in Kadambnagar & got released from the curse. The lake in which God Indra had bath, is called as Chintamani sarovar.

Children Are Future Messengers of Baba
Children are the image of God. It is good if we love children but pampering is not good. All their needs must be taken care of but we should not spoil them by giving whatever they asked for. Love devoid of discipline will spell danger. In order to have a stable and happy society, we must groom children of to-day become as good citizens of the future. Tatya, as a small boy, used to come to Masjid along with other kids and used to make fun of Baba, but later was transformed as an intimate associate of Baba. A parrot trained by a thief would repeat "loot, please loot"; whereas, one trained by a noble person repeats "please come, sit down". Children must be taught to appreciate good, weed out bad qualities and be shaped as good citizens and devout servants of God. The hearts of children are like fields wetted by a shower of rain. Whatever seeds of impressions are sown will get germinated and deep rooted. Their hearts are like clean mirrors which reflect whatever sights are shown to them. The opinions deeply planted in the childhood will, in the course of time, strike deep roots and grow into mighty trees. Hence, elders must carefully observe the thoughts and behaviour of children and mould their character. We should be friendly with them, remove the thorns like evil and make their future a flowery path. The well-groomed children will become future Messengers of Baba.
