Maalik Ek is an attempt to cash in on the religious sensibilities of the Indian audiences. So director Vij does not bother about putting up a show that is even close to bearable. He seems to take it for granted that faith (or blind faith) will draw naïve audiences to pay for something this bad and embarrassing.
A shoddy script, bad direction, poor camerawork and a tapori Sai Baba (Shroff) welcome you to tirth sthaan Shirdi, where Dwarka Mai (Irani) and Lakshmi (Dutta) are dreamily talking about fakir Sai Baba and his spiritual powers.
There is no attempt to track the life and times of a young Sai Baba and how he comes to be a respected and saintly figure in his old age. Audiences with no particular faith or interest in Sai Baba’s life will be lost trying to gauge how he became what he became!
Dwarka Mai and Lakshmi (did I mention their gaudy make-up?) take us through the life of the saint with flashbacks from a small village Shirdi in Maharashtra, said to have been the place where people witnessed the Baba’s miraculous powers. The events unfolding on screen are random and no screenplay seems to have been in place before shooting began.
Shroff looks the part all right but speaks more like a roadside tapori, complete with dance sequence and language that doesn’t suit even a layman. The dubbing for the most part is off and makes one feel like one is watching a South Indian film dubbed in Hindi. Even the other actors fail to make any impact. The only character you might remember at the end is that of Saraswati (Sachdeva), a poor farmer’s daughter who commits suicide out of frustration and poverty.
If you do go to watch the film, you'll end up praying to Sai Baba (not Shroff, please) for an early end to Maalik Ek, the movie.

REVAMPING OF THE SHIRDI SAI TEMPLE COMPLEX

The Shirdi Sai Baba Temple Trust has cleared a New Floor Plan,
approved by architect Hafeez Contactor, for the Shirdi Temple Complex. It will cut waiting time for devotees by half.The Project proposes demolishing the existing Waiting Hall and replacing it with an Air-Conditioned Hall for 25,000 pilgrims. The Plan was approved at the last meeting of the Shri Saibaba Sansthan Trust, which runs the Shrine.Other new facilities in the Revamped Temple Complex will be a moving walkway or a Conveyor Belt for the disabled / elderly pilgrims. This Conveyor Belt will take them right next to Sai Baba's Samadhi in the Temple’s Sanctum.The Project is expected to cost Rs.60 crore and the work will start in two months, said Jayant Sasane chairman of the Temple Trust. The Sai Baba Temple receives 25,000 devotees daily. But on Thursdays and festive days, the number reaches nearly 1 lakh. On rush days, pilgrims have to wait in a queue stand for an average of 3 hrs. Sometimes, the waiting time goes up to 5 hrs.Trustee Sami Khatib said at present, devotees have to walk a lot before reaching the Samadhi. “The new plan, which was passed with few modifications,
will not only reduce the waiting time but also help regulate the flow of pilgrims. Now that we have finished other facilities that were planned in Shirdi, including a hospital, we will be able to concentrate on the Main Complex,” he said.Contractor visited the Sai Temple few days back. Trust officials said he will give his approval for a selected plan in two weeks. Contractor said, “They (the Shirdi trust) have asked for my advice, but nothing has been finalised yet.”Narendra Rajput, a Sion-Koliwada resident who visits the Shrine every month, said, “Unless the Trust stops giving preference to VIPs, no amount of new facilities will help ordinary pilgrims.”
Faith in Baba is a Means to Realize God

God loves His devotees enormously. Devotees rely on Baba with great faith. At times Baba puts us to simple tests to assess how firm our faith in Him is. Sometimes we face small hurdles, while complex and life-threatening troubles make us desperate at other times. On such occasions, the faith in Baba should be firm and we should pray, 'Baba, I cast my burden on You. Do as You please - sink or save me. And, there is nothing that moves me away from Your Feet even in the hour of life or death'.When the doctors fail to cure a disease of our kin who are in the throes of death, we hold Baba's Feet and pray to Him with firm faith as He alone is our Saviour, Baba heals the sick miraculously. Despite failing to diagnose the disease properly, the medicines given at random by the doctor will work miracles. The patient gets up from the death bed and the good news reaches home. Though worried with life-threatening thoughts till the other minute, Baba makes us safely cross the ocean of troubles and reach the haven of happiness. Can Baba, the Ocean of Kindness, abandon His devotees in trouble? Are we not sending our children to various competitions and tests so that they might win prizes? Likewise, now and then, Baba tests us and what delights Baba is the way His devotees conquer hurdles and emerge victorious.

Even if Heavens fall down never lose Faith in Baba

People with undeviating devotion will never deflect their minds from the thought of God and will never forget Him even when they face troubled times or losses. Those who seek God for mere fulfillment of physical desires and wealth will lose confidence the moment the tide turns against them. As long as we have plenty of money, people flock us and pose as intimate well-wishers. In trying times, no one would come to our rescue. In such bad times, even our health might get deteriorated as if the God is testing us. Unmindful of these set-backs, if one prays with firm faith to Baba, the troubles will melt away, much like the mist melting away in the rays of the rising Sun. When difficulties engulf you, you should not feel frightened and dejected. Fill your heart with faith in God and pray to Him. At that hour, Baba showers His Grace on you like the beams of light to dispel darkness. Here, your duty is to wait patiently. Let us not lose hope or get disheartened that Baba did not help us at the hour of crisis. Let us sincerely believe that Baba will remove all the troubles which are a result of our past deeds and the All-Merciful Baba paves a golden path for our bright future. This strong faith alone drives away all our fears. Therefore, never lose faith in Baba even if the Heavens fall on you.

Weakness can be Overcome when Divine Support is Coupled with Determination
Every individual possesses a combination of some good and bad qualities. We must try to get rid of negative qualities and attempt to cultivate noble ones. It is a common experience that we all face both favourable and adverse times. God has given freedom to us to either choose a good environment and strive to cultivate good qualities or yield to temptations. Baba leaves the choice to us whether we swim against the fury of the water current or glide along the smooth current. Our minds get fortified if we choose the right path and walk on it. When we tread the right path, Baba empowers our minds to live boldly and gladly. Even Baba energizes us with His Spirit-Power.We will surely get the due returns to our firm faith, right frame of thoughts and discipline. One who swims against the powerful current with iron will and faith in God will certainly reach the destination. Baba, God Incarnate, moulds our characters, fills our souls with His Holy Spirit, enthuses and shapes our destinies for good. Just as ebb and flow and whirlwinds are unavoidable in an ocean, troubles and problems are quite common in life. To overcome all these factors with determination and courage, the four-lettered miraculous word, "BABA" is enough to eliminate our weaknesses.
God alone instils Goodness in Our Minds
Everyone wants to earn a good reputation and in this quest one tries to earn huge amounts and desires to spend a happy life with family. But the effort or means must be as noble as our objective is. However, the major weakness in man is his greed to make easy money. Such greedy people resort to any sort of illegal and deceitful means. But, God will always help those people walking on the right path and even if they make a mistake, Baba will safeguard and set right such of His devotees. A greedy person thought of getting rich over-night by betting in horse race. In the process he lost lots of money and did not pay heed to the pleading of his better-half. With tears, the humble woman begged Baba to break her husband's habit. Can things go against the will of God? In the early hours, a little girl came to the house of the horse-betting person and sought alms. Begging for a morsel of food, she narrated how her horse-betting father lost everything and fled home with huge debts to repay. The very thought that his children too may meet the same fate frightened him. He realized how ruinous his bad habit was. He repented and begged Baba to forgive and free him from that evil habit. If by chance there are any Baba's devotees, Baba will help them in one or the other way. Yes, one heart-felt cry and fervent prayer is enough for Baba to bless us and promote good in us.

SHIRDI SAI TRUST TO PATENT SAI BABA'S SAMADHI

Shirdi Sansthan's Bolt can soon fall upon some Sai Baba Temple's all over the country. According to the Sansthan many temple's are misleading devotees of Sai Baba by making Baba's fake Samadhi's in their Temple's.

Shirdi is the eternal abode of Sai Baba.

Shirdi is the place where Baba spent his Life.

Shirdi is the holy place where Baba took Maha-Samadhi.

But, there are a few who are taking advantage of the faith Baba's devotees have in Baba.All over the country, many Sai Temple's have built Baba's Samadhi at par with the original Samadhi in Shirdi.Shirdi Sansthan has planned to take stern action against such individuals or institutions, who are using Baba's name to mislead people or who have made Sai Baba's Fake Samadhi's.According to Shri.Ashok Khambekar, Trustee Shirdi Sansthan, Baba took Samadhi on 15th Oct`1918 in Shirdi itself ,and so Baba's Samadhi is only in Shirdi and no where else in the world. And it has come to their attention that some Sai Temple's in Pune, Dehradun, Hyderabad and Bengaluru, have made a replica of Baba's Samadhi, together with Baba's Idol, which is wrong and that action will be taken against them.The Sansthan said that by making such fake Samadhi's, people are playing with the sentiment's of the Baba's devotees and the Sansthan doesn't want Baba's Samadhi to be disgraced in any manner. They have also appealed to the people to beware of any such Fake people or institutions.What triggered this action, was the fact, that the self proclaimed Sai Disciple "Ichchadhari Baba", who was arrested in Delhi's sex scandal, had built a Samadhi of Shirdi Sai Baba in his Ashram. And after, this fake Baba got busted, the Shirdi Sai Baba Sansthan has planned to take stern action against such individuals or institutions, who have made Sai Baba's Fake Samadhi's everywhere.

PRATISHIRDI SAI TEMPLE`SHIRGAON

SHIRDI SAI TRUST VERSUS SHIRGAON SAI TRUST

The Sai Baba Sansthan Trust of Shirdi is unhappy with the Shirgaon replica of Sai Baba's Samadhi. It has threatened the Shirgaon Trust with legal action and has asked them to remove Baba's Pratisamadhi. Various politicians of Shirdi have said that they would agitate against the Shirgaon Trust and, if needed, physically remove Baba's Pratisamadhi. However, the Shirgaon Trust has declined to comply with the Shirdi Trust’s demands.Shirgaon is gradually gaining ground because of the Sai Baba Temple. Hundreds of devotees now flock to pray at Baba's Pratisamadhi. In fact, Shirgaon’s popularity on account of the replica, led to the name Pratishirdi, or the replica of Shirdi. It is situated near Somatane on the Pune-Mumbai highway, around 30 km from the city. Many devotees from Pune go there, as it saves a lot of time. The Sai Baba temple in Shirgaon was established on June 11, 2003. Shri.Prakash Deole, a former member of the State Legislative Council from the Shiv Sena, had established this Temple. Deole said that over one lakh devotees visit Pratishirdi annually. The controversy fell out into the open last week after Shri.Jayant Sasane, the chairman of the Saibaba Sansthan Trust told the Shirgaon trust to remove the Pratisamadhi from its temple.

Pratishirdi does a good job of making one feel as if one is in the real Shirdi temple. There is a Gurusthan at the entrance with a neem tree in the centre. The Temple’s layout, Samadhi and Sai Baba's Statue resembles the structure in Shirdi.

The Dwarkamai in Shirgaon holds a Sai Dhuni (a lamp), which is lit 24X7. The Chawadi at the back is built just like the one in Shirdi. Sai Baba's Abhishek and Aarti schedule at Pratishirdi is similar to Shirdi. Annual festivals like Sthapana Divas, Guru Poornima, Ram Navami and Dasara make the Shirdi feeling complete.- Shirdi says Pratishirdi must stop Imitating -Shri.Jayant Sasane, the chairman of the Shree Saibaba Sansthan Trust, said that the trust had had a meeting recently, in which it decided to take action against Shirgaon’s Pratisamadhi. Sasane said that Sai Baba is internationally acclaimed and there are temples in Toronto, Sydney, California and London. However, in all these Temples there are Statues of Sai Baba but no Samadhi. “We are not against Statues, but how can they make a Samadhi? A Samadhi cannot exist in different places. We have spoken to the Legal department of the State Government about the action that can be taken against Shirgaon's Pratisamadhi. We have also talked to some few Law firms, as we wish to Patent all Sai Baba merchandise in order to retain its authenticity,” he added.This issue is also going to be raised in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly as Shiv Sena Senior Minister Ramdas Kadam believes that such duplicate Samadhi's of Sai Baba should not be allowed anywhere.- Shirgaon in No Mood to Bow to Shirdi - Shri.Prakash Devale, the chairman of the Saibaba Public Charitable Trust of Shirgaon, said that people did not know where the exact point of the Samadhi was in Shirdi. “They have made a marble structure in front of Saibaba’s Statue. So, where devotees offer their prayers is not the real Samadhi. The actual Samadhi is below the Statue. We did same thing here in Shirgaon. We made a room underground, right below the Statue of Sai Baba. We have kept holy ash from Shirdi here. We call this structure Dhyanmandir (temple for meditation), which people now call the Pratisamadhi. I know that the Samadhi can exist only in one place.” However, he was not impressed with the Shirdi Trust’s demands. “Who are they to tell us to remove the structure? Are they giving us funds? They don’t have any right to say things like that or make such demands. The tenure of the Shirdi Trust is about to get over. Since they want to continue unchanged, they are pulling this stunt.” It is important to know here that the Shirdi Trust is appointed by the State Government, unlike the Shirgaon Trust, which is a private one. Shri.Kailas Kote, the former chairman of the Shirdi Municipal Council said that if the Shirgaon trust does not remove the Pratisamadhi, they will take matters into their own hands. “If they don’t remove the structure within a month, then residents of Shirdi will take to the roads. Last week we sent a letter to the state government about this problem. Now, we will take serious action. There is only one one Samadhi of Sai and that is in Shirdi and nowhere else. The Shirgaon Trust is misleading Sai devotees,” he added.

DEVOTEES CAN FLY TO SHIRDI IN 15 MONTHS

23rd Oct`2010 MUMBAI:

In less than two years, Sai Baba devotees can hope to cut down on their 8- to 12-hour travel time to Shirdi and instead, Fly over there in just a matter of half-an-hour, even as the Union environment ministry gave the nod for an Airport to be constructed 13 km from Shirdi. "The experts appraisal committee (EAC) of the Union Ministry of Environment and Forests (MoEF)
lauded our presentation on the airport, made some suggestions and announced clearance to the project," said Maharashtra Airport Development Company Ltd (MADCL) General Manager Ramesh Yaool. "The Naresh Dayal-led committee sanctioned out project
and told us to download the formal clearance letter from the MoEF website in a month." The Airport, which is estimated to cost around Rs 340 crore, will come up on a 340-hectare land. While Rs 40 crore will be contributed by the state government, Rs 100 crore will come from the Shirdi Temple Trust. Devotees from across the country, have promised another Rs 150 crore. "We hope to finish the process of appointing developers in three months and start the constructions by March, next year. In the next 15 months, we want to complete the first phase of the Airport that will be able to handle up to 1,000 flyers a day. The next phase should be finished by 2013, when 3,000 passengers can use the airport every day," the GM said. The runway of the Airport will be 3,200 to 3,600 m long and will be fit for the landing of big aircraft. According to Jayant Sasane, chairman of the Trust, once the flights started, Shirdi could witness around 3,000 devotees from Pune, Mumbai and Nashik every day. "It is good news for us and we hope that the first flight would land by 2012," said Sasane.

Why Should we Fear the Future?

The reason to fear about the future lies in our feeling of insecurity. There is no need for fear if we completely rely on Baba. God would look after our 'tomorrow', once we cast the responsibility on Him. In right spirit we can take anything we receive today, be it pleasure or pain. Likewise, God might avert our troubles of tomorrow or might as well provide the mental stamina to face them. It would be foolish to worry about them much in advance, because, it is the very God who writes every chapter in the book of life from the prologue to epilogue. Hence, every page is meaningful. It would be enough to trust His feet. When we have unflinching faith in Baba, He would protect us much like a father who shields His children. He even teaches us the essence of life as a father would to his children.An astrologer predicted that Tendulkar's son would fail in his examinations as foretold in his horoscope. But his wife went to Shirdi and implored Baba for His Grace. Baba said 'with trust in Me, let him write the exam'. Tendulkar's son wrote the exam with faith in Baba and came out in flying colors. We too can ignore a matter once we leave it to Baba saying, 'Baba! It's upto You as to how You will solve the problem'. We can keep children around and enjoy narrating them the Leelas of Baba. Our faith in Baba will stand us in good stead.

DEVOTEE ALLOWED TO CLIMB AND SIT ON SAI BABA'S SAMADHI AT SHIRDI !!!

According to the rules of Shirdi Sai Trust made in 1979, except for the Temple's Pujari's, NOBODY IS ALLOWED TO CLIMB AND SIT ON SAI BABA'S SAMADHI, be it any VIP, the Sansthan Trustees or even the President of the country.

But Recently,THE SHIRDI SAI TRUST BROKE ITS AGE OLD RULE, BY ALLOWINGA SAI DEVOTEE TO ACTUALLY CLIMB UP SAI BABA'S SAMADHI AND SIT RIGHT NEXT TO BABA'S IDOL !!!

A Sai Devotee from Andhra Pradesh, Shri.Adi Narayana Reddy,
was actually allowed to climb up Baba's Samadhi and sit next to Baba's Idol.Shri.Adi Narayana Reddy is the same devotee who in the past had donated 150 kgs of Gold
to the Sai Temple for Sai Baba's Throne / Walls & Pillars.

- CONTEMPORARY DEVOTEES VERSUS SHIRDI SAI TRUST -

This has raised strong objections from the family of Shri.Gopalrao Mukund Butty (who had got the Butty Wada made) and other contemporary devotees like Shri.Mukund Rao Kote and Shivaji Gondkar, who have all got together and set up their own Committee (Samiti), to object certain ways of the Shirdi Sai Trust like:
1) The way the Shirdi Sai Trust has changed the face of Baba's Samadhi Temple, by covering it in Gold. They want the Butty Wada's simplicity & authenticity to be retained for which they
have asked the Shirdi Trust to resist such changes.
2) How can any devotee be allowed to climb up and sit on Baba's Samadhi, when its against the rules of the Sai Trust.
3) Why some devotees have an quick and easy VIP Darshan while others have to wait in long queues.
4) Why were the local devotees not given permission to sing Bhajans inside the Shrine,
while the Rich are allowed to sit on Baba's Samadhi.According to Shri.Subhash Rao Butty (Grandson of Shri.Gopalrao Butty), if Sai Baba wanted the Butty Wada to be covered in Gold, his grand father (Shri.Gopalrao Butty) could have done so in 1918 itself,
when he had got the Butty Wada made, as even then he had the all the means & sources to do so.But, Baba always preferred Simplicity and was very much against the display of one's Wealth or power. He never gathered any sort of wealth except for the Love of his devotees.
And today, devotees in love and gratitude for Baba, offer Gold / Silver and other Precious items to Baba. So much so that, everything has now been covered in Gold, be it Baba's Throne, his Chariot or the Walls & Pillars of his Samadhi's sanctum sanctorum. In a way, Baba has now been immersed in all the things for which he stood against.Shri.Ashok Khambekar, Managing Trustee, Shri Sai Baba Sansthan has said that they would consider their demands and call them for talks also.
To be noted: In Shri Sai Satcharitra, Chapter XIV it is said that Baba always used to get wild and scolded
those who brought costly & rich articles. He had told Mr. Nanasaheb Chandorkar that His property consisted of 1 Koupin (codpiece),
1 stray piece of cloth, 1 Kafni & a Tumbler, and that all the people troubled Him
by bringing all these unnecessary, useless and costly articles."
Baba also never allowed Mahalsapati to accept any money or gifts
that devotees who came to see Baba showered on him. Baba kept him poor in Kind, but rich in his Spiritual Heart. Baba gifted him the supreme Bliss, much more valuable than any physical and transitory richness.

God Dwells Wherever Unity Prevails

Happiness lies in unity and living together. When human beings live together without any factions or hatred, the mercy of God will be showered on us. God dwells where people co-exist in peace and amity and grants us mighty strength to help each other in a spirit of universal brotherhood. We should know that strength lies in unity and Baba is the power of unity. In order to sense the Presence of God within us, we must work together in absolute faith, unquestioning obedience and fervent love. There is no room for competition in spiritual practices. In the strength of unity, every heart is filled with love for the Divinity. A sense of oneness is felt. When once we experience consciousness of oneness, we behold our Beloved Baba in All.One need not impress upon the fact that God exists not only in the idol of a temple but in the hearts of everyone. But, this is easier said than done. Acknowledging God in every one results in our being in the Presence of God. The core meaning of Lord Sri Krishna appearing to each one of the cow-herd women as Krishna is a result of this tendency in particular and nothing else. Let us pray to Baba to help us in making all of us stand by one word and move on one path to reach Him. Let us join our hands and walk on the path of Baba. Let us live together in unity and reach the Feet of Sainath.

Faith without Devotion and Learning without Understanding are Useless
Whatever task we undertake, we should execute it with devotion. This, in turn, protects the practitioner. The lives of those with spiritual inkling becomes meaningful. When children are brought up with discipline, they have great future. Baba used to preach 'whatever task is undertaken, accomplish it with total devotion'. In prayer, the mind should meditate on God and while reading, the mind should not deviate from the subject. Baba loved such devotees. Likewise, adversities on the path of devotion should be treated as tests and with firm faith in the Merciful Baba, we should abide by His words to overcome the hurdles and get saved by Sai, our Saviour.With great concern, Baba protects His devotees and cleanses their sins too. Even in the past, Sri Krishna, the Universal Teacher, acknowledged that only the sincere can acquire the knowledge of self. Baba admitted that Meghashyama, a great devotee of Baba, worshipped Him with pure devotion. The teachings of Sadguru may appear a bit tough and harsh. But, if followed with utmost sincerity, one could easily grasp the true essence. In the Bhagavad Geeta, Lord Krishna explained to Arjuna, 'Only the devout soul gets enlightened and experiences bliss'. Hence, faith without devotion and knowledge without understanding are useless.

Of What use is Your Hoarded Money?

God created this vast universe and gifted it to mankind to enjoy it. This is a common wealth. But, we, in our greed, would not like to share it with the needy but intend to enjoy it alone. This tendency creates many problems. We would like to hoard money earned as "wealth asset" and still aim at multiplying it. We want to transfer our riches as inheritance to our children, but never want to share our wealth with others, thereby ignoring a vital aspect here. The wealth amassed may slip into the hands of thieves or government. The river in which the water always flows would be fresh and pure. It is the nature of water to flow to make it remain normal. Likewise, money not spent for charities but hoarded will become waste and an useless asset.Human beings should cultivate the habit of donating a part of what they earn. We have to donate to the poor, the old or the handicapped, either in cash or kind. Instead of donating, if we go on hoarding money, there would be no end to greed. At the end of the day, the money hoarded would be of no use. But, the money spent on the poor would become useful. From this, the satisfaction of rendering timely help to others would come. We have to learn that God gifted us with wealth for this noble purpose. Let us share our wealth with the less fortunate ones. Let us deserve the grace of Beloved Baba, our God.

Prayer is not a "spare wheel" that you pull out when in trouble, but it is a "steering wheel" that directs the right path throughout.

Baba, in Everything and Everywhere in Nature
When we look at nature, varieties of trees, mountains, multi-hued, fragrant flowers wafting perfume, tasty fruits, a host of song birds, animals, brooks, rainbows, and a plethora of pleasant sights greet us. What is the basis and who created them all? Who has taught the parrot to mutter sweet words, songs to a cuckoo and dance to a peacock? This wondrous creation bears an eloquent testimony to the creative genius of God. He pervades every atom of the Universe. Our minds enveloped in the darkness are unable to sense the Power of the Celestial Artist who drew the picture of the visible, marvellous creation on the canvas of the nature. God incarnates in the human form in order to dispel the darkness of ignorance in mankind and to light wisdom. Baba is the Heavenly Father in human form.Is it not foolishness not to have developed a rock-like faith in Baba after reading Sai Satcharitra, a story of His mind-boggling miracles blessed to thousands of devotees. On a number of occasions Baba proved that He would be hurt or harmed if any living being is tortured or Mother Nature is polluted. With deep love for Baba welling up in our hearts, let us behold the Presence of Baba in every inch of Nature and let us serve Baba visible in every living being. This is the highest practice of sensing the Omnipresence of Baba, the fulfillment of human birth.

When Baba is with us we can Easily Cross Over the Ocean of Worldly Life

We should keep our minds on God and always contemplate on Him in order to cross the ocean of life. If not, at every stage, there would be obstacles, failures, humiliations and insults, leading to chaos in life. For the believers in Baba, no troubles would cause harm. With minds fixed on Baba, if we move ahead with a feeling that "You are making me walk, Father", Baba will turn the abysmal ocean of life into a knee-deep canal and ensures smooth passage by holding and leading us by His Hand.Though cursed by poverty, a devotee of Baba, Mhalsapathy's life never faced any troubles. At the very first encounter, he addressed Baba as 'Sai' and could as well recognize Baba's Divinity. We commit blunders with our limited knowledge by ignoring the enormous love and kindness of Baba. Do we have faith that our victory in every work is the gift of Baba? Do we show gratitude to Baba for every success and accept it as Baba's gift? We need to search our souls. Most of the devotees seek fulfillment of physical desires. Again, the devotees who would ask "Baba, I seek you, I need Your presence always, I have no other worldly desires" are very few. On focusing our mind on Baba, every step that we take will lead us on the path of devotion and helps us reach Sai, the Guiding Light of our Lives.

It's just a short reminder to all of you working so hard in life. We should not let time slip through our fingers without having spent some time with those who really matter to us, those close to our hearts. Do remember to share your time with someone you love. If we die tomorrow, the company that we are working for could easily replace us in a matter of hours. But the family & friends we leave behind will feel the loss for the rest of their lives.

Baba's Miracle of Lighting the Lamps

Baba, the Heavenly Father in human form descended to Shirdi to protect the weak and the poor. He lit the Lamp of Wisdom to dispel the darkness of ignorance. Baba was fond of lights. Every evening He used to illumine every corner of Dwarakamayi by keeping lighted lamps in rows. He used to procure necessary oil to light the lamps from the local traders. One day the traders lied to Baba that there was no stock of oil. But Baba did not felt annoyed with them. He smiled and returned to the mosque with an empty oil can. Curious as they were, the traders followed Baba to see how He would lit the lamps without oil. Baba poured water into the oil can with a couple of oil drops in it, shook it, drank the water, spit into the oil can and poured the water into the earthen lamps and lit them. Wonder of the wonders, the lamps burnt luminously throughout the night to the utter amazement of the traders who were awe-struck. Baba gently exhorted them, 'If you are unwilling to give, do not give. But do not tell a lie. You could as well say 'No'. Ashamed, the traders prostrated before Baba and sought His forgiveness. The lights of wisdom were lit by Baba in their hearts. In that celestial light, the people of Shirdi sensed Baba's Divinity. Baba is an embodiment of love. Is not He? They were all forgiven and embraced by the Merciful Baba.
