My Favourite Quotes from Sri Chanakya Niti-Sastra
Lakshmi, the Goddess of wealth, comes of Her own accord where fools are not respected, grain is well stored up, and the husband and wife do not quarrel.
MAY I ANSWER.
The questions asked under 22 broad themes centre around the Sadguru Shri Sai Baba. The enquiries appear to be very spontaneous and natural coming from people who are a part of the ever increasing Sai following. The answers given by Shri C.B. Satpathy have been equally spontaneous and natural. A very ardent devotee of Shri Shirdi Sai Baba, Shri Satpathy has been working unceasingly for last 18 years, trying to bring Sai teachings to the people with utmost clarity and simplicity. The answers on various topics have been given with as much scientific
and rational explanation as possible keeping in view the thought processes of the new generation of young people in different parts of the world. In this process, however, emotive contents have not been neglected. I think that such a natural style of answering is possible only from an Ankit Santan (chosen child) of Sai Baba. It is as if the Sadguru (Perfect Master), Shri Shirdi Sai Baba is responding to questions from devotees and persons with a spiritual quest.
I have thoroughly enjoyed going through the manuscript and felt spiritual exhilaration. I hope the readers of the publication will be blessed by Shri Sai Baba to follow the spiritual path shown by Him.
C.B. Satpathy: BABA May I answer
Who is Shirdi Sai Baba? Why is He named like this?
The childhood or the parent given name of the Saint you are referring to is unknown. He is called by differentnames such as Shirdi Sai Baba or Sai Baba of Shirdi or Sainath Maharaj or Sairam etc. He was a Sadguru of a veryhigh spiritual stage who finally settled at Shirdi for about sixty years before entering into His Maha Samadhi on, 15th October 1918. Presently Shirdi is a village in the district Ahmadnagar in the state of Maharashtra, India. Most of His spiritual, religious, social and philanthropic activities that made Him known all over the country were during the period of His stay at Shirdi for about sixty years. Therefore He is popularly known as Shirdi Sai Baba.
[I will be posting 1 question/answer everyday and as the days go by-I am a sure as a Sai devotee, you will get alot of answers to the questions you have always asked BABA in ur daily prayers. Thanks to Guruji Shri Satpathy ji and the publishers of this great book]
We Need to Work in the Sphere of our Ability
The power of humans is limited. Divine power is unlimited. Baba used to say 'One need to work according to one's own ability'. In fact, working as per our ability is linked with our faith and sincerity. Performing the entrusted work of Baba to the best of our ability is very dear to Him. The meaning of the word 'to the best of our ability' is to fully utilize our energy and efficiency. At times, it is but natural to get trapped in an illusion and think that we worked to our capacity, though a very little was actually done. It so happens because of our ignorance and pride. For a while, we forget Baba and His omniscient power. By this, insincerity or duplicity raises its ugly head and makes us commit several mistakes. When we know that Baba is aware of all our actions, we would never repeat such mistakes.By our dishonest behaviour, even our previous works would be treated as worthless. God would not forgive us if we go on repeating the acts of sin thinking that the All-Merciful God would pardon us whatever sin we might commit. On the other hand, if we follow Baba's teachings, our efforts would bear fruits of enduring peace and joy. We would deem the human life as a great opportunity given by Baba to make the most of it. One has to grasp the meaning of Baba's saying "One need to work only within one's ability". Baba is the real Doer. The questions asked under 22 broad themes centre around the Sadguru Shri Sai Baba.
