Good or bad is never permanent, welcome a change. God loves you because you are one of His creations. Come out & adopt positive attitude to witness miraculous ways of Baba........... Envy is a waste of time............ The best in you is knocking your door. Look in to feel His presence........... Never get into any arguments; feel fresh, get up, dress up & show upwith a smile................... Life isn't tied with a bow, but still is a gift showered by GodAlmighty................... Contentment is the destroyer of all three - desires, anger and greed......... Knowledge leads to freedom, but pride of knowledge leads one to hell.......... A single act of selflessness can turn hell into heaven. The habit of giving rather than asking is the tool for an enduring relationship........... Silence is the best language.......... Only the joy that comes from right conduct is true happiness- Other pleasures are really sources of pain and causes of shame.......... A god-fearing person can never be religious, because if you fear God you cannot love him............. One step closer to Brahma Gyaan

One step closer to Brahma gyan:::: A 'devotee' goer wrote a letter to the editor of a newspaper and complained that it made no sense to go to the Temple . 'I've gone for 30 years now, he wrote, and in that time I have heard something like 3,000 mantras. But for the life of me, I can't remember a single one of them. So, I think I'm wasting my time and the Gurus are wasting theirs by giving services at all. This started a real controversy in the 'Letters to the Editor' column, much to the delight of the editor. It went on for weeks until someone wrote this clincher: I've been married for 30 years now. In that time my wife has cooked some 32,000 meals. But, for the life of me, I cannot recall the entire menu for a single one of those meals. But I do know this... They all nourished me and gave me the strength I needed to do my work. If my wife had not given me these meals, I would be physically dead today. Likewise, if I had not gone to the Temple for nourishment, I would be spiritually dead today! When you are DOWN to nothing.... God is UP to something! Faith sees the invisible, believes the incredible and receives the impossible! Thank God for our physical AND our spiritual nourishment! ------------------------------ So easy to beat yourself up over mistakes you've made. So many amongst us live in the past rather than loving the present and building a brilliant future. Some people stay stuck for years over something they did or a failure they've experienced. Sad. A life is a terrible thing to waste. But let me ask you a question: "is there really such a thing as a mistake?" First of all, no one tries to fail or mess things up. Every one of us wakes up in the morning, walks out into the world and does the best we can do based on what we know and the skills we have. But even more importantly, every so-called "mistake' is actually a rich source of learning. An opportunity to build more awareness and understanding and gain precious experience. Experience that will help us do, feel and be even better. So, just maybe, there are no mistakes. Just maybe what we could call failures are actually growth lessons in wolf's clothing. And just maybe the person who experiences the most wins. ---------------------- A sick man turned to his doctor as he was preparing to Leave the examination room and said, 'Doctor, I am afraid to die. Tell me what lies on the other side.' Very quietly, the doctor said, 'I don't know.' 'You don't know? You, a Christian man, Do not know what is on the other side?' The doctor was holding the handle of the door; On the other side came a sound of scratching and whining, And as he opened the door, a dog sprang into the room And leaped on him with an eager show of gladness. Turning to the patient, the doctor said, 'Did you notice my dog? He's never been in this room before. He didn't know what was inside. He knew nothing except that his master was here, And when the door opened, he sprang in without fear. I know little of what is on the other side of death, But I do know one thing... I know my Master is there and that is enough.' ------------------------------- A boy and a girl were playing together. The boy had a collection of marbles. The girl had some sweets with her. The boy told the girl that he will give her all his marbles in exchange for her sweets. The girl agreed. The boy kept the biggest and the most beautiful marble aside and gave the rest to the girl. The girl gave him all her sweets as she had promised. That night, the girl slept peacefully. But the boy couldn't sleep as he kept wondering if the girl had hidden some sweets from him the way he had hidden his best marble. Moral of the story: If you don't give your hundred percent in a relationship, you'll always keep doubting if the other person has given his/her hundred percent.. This is applicable for any relationship like love, employer-employee relationship, friendship etc., Give your hundred percent to everything you do and sleep peacefully ---------------------- The tragedy of life is not death,but what we let die inside us while we live.When u were born,the world rejoiced while u cried,-live ur life in such a way that when you die,-the world cries while u rejoice.. -------------------------------- Your days are your life in miniature. As you live your days, so you craft your life. What you do today is actually creating your future. The words you speak, the thoughts you think, the food you eat and the actions you take are defining your destiny â€“ shaping who you are becoming and what your life will stand for. There's no such thing as an unimportant day. Each of us is called to greatness. Each of us has an exquisite power within us. But for this power to grow, we need to use it. The more you exercise it each day, the stronger it gets. The more this power gets tapped, the more confident you grow. The best among us are not more gifted than the rest. They just take small steps each day as they march towards their biggest life. And the days slip into weeks, the weeks into months and before they know it, they arrive at a place called Extraordinary. ----------------------------- If you can not respect , love , care about ,stand by or be honest with your own parents ,-who gave birth to you and were the very first people who fell in love with you -- then whether you accept this or not but you do not love anyone else in this world either with all your heart and soul ....and time will show that none of your children will stand by you either- when you will need them the most.. ----------------------------------- If you sit with a person who is smoking, even without ur knowledge- You will end up inhaling second hand smoke.In the same way, if you be in the company of saints who constantly preach about the importance of doing good karma-, automatically even without ur knowledge- u will end up doing a lot of positive and humble deeds. If you be in the company of a person who keeps saying bad words and abusing others then then obviously whether u like it or not -- u will end up being the same kind of person sooner or later. And if u constantly listen to Gods name, his praises, his bhajans-even without you being aware of it - the words that will come out of your mouth will be nothing but the nectar of love and bliss. So be in the company of God and even without your knowledge-You will find him seated in your heart - talking to you and finding solutions to ur problems and worries.You just need to take one step towards Him and He will take 100 steps towards you.. Suffering and Sorrow

Suffering is so universal, and so manifold, that the human mind is tempted to change its whole outlook when it faces sorrow and suffering. Guru Nanak Dev Jee differentiates the following types of sorrows :
(1) Sorrow of separation from the beloved ones
(2) Sorrow of hungry stomach
(3) Sorrow of tyranny and death
(4) Sorrow of bodily ailments
(5) Sorrow of mental and spiritual diseases.( 1256).

All these sorrows have made suffering universal.
Says Sheikh Farid :
I thought sorrow has engulfed me only, But the whole world is engulfed in grief,
On looking at the world from the higher plane, I found every home ablaze with sorrow's flames.

No-One Asks For Suffering

Khalsa jee, Guru nanak dev jee gives us these pearls of wisdom direct from Vaahi-guroo Jee's mouth to our ears :
"Everyone begs for happiness; no one asks for suffering. But in the wake of happiness, there comes great suffering. The self-willed manmukhs do not understand this. Those who see pain and pleasure as one and the same find peace; they are pierced through by the Shabad. 5 "

(panna 57 Guru Granth Sahib Jee).
Not much to explain really, just think of things you thought would bring you happiness, but ended up giving you pain. The ManMukh doesn't learn this lesson and continues chasing Sukh (and inevitably Dukh follows), wereas the GurMukh says

'Baba Nanak Jee, save me! save me! grab me by the arm and pull me out of this well i'm trapped in'...vaahi-guroo vaahi-guroo vaahi-guroo vaahi-guroo to the rescue.
If Dukh and Sukh are the 2 faces of a coin which the ManMukh keeps flipping , then the GurMukh is the one who walks on the edge! Bhagata kee chal nirallee .. . the path of the Saints is Distinct, finer than a hair and sharper than a sword teaches Guru Amar Das jee in Anand Sahib.
Some quick examples :
1. "Everyone begs for happiness; no one asks for suffering. But in the wake of happiness, there comes great suffering. The self-willed manmukhs do not understand this." ...Kaam, lust...for the sake of sensual pleasure a person cuts their hair, follows fashion, becomes a slave for the opposite sex and goes from one nightclub to another, one night stands one hundred encounters, then that gets boring and there's a million and one perversions....homosexuals, transvestites, paedophiles ....

Chasing this Sukh look how people suffer with AIDS and countless other sexually transmitted diseases. And even if they survuved the disease, then what about the unwanted pregnancy leading to abortion and more and more PAAP.
2. " Those who see pain and pleasure as one and the same find peace; they are pierced through by the Shabad. 5 ".........
Now take Baba Sheesha Singh Jee, he had a heart-attack a few months ago. When we asked what paat gursikhs could do for his health, he replied 'This is only a body, it comes according to Hukam and it goes according to Hukam. Accept Hukam.'! And as another GurSikh said, 'We are not the owners of this body, mere tenants, The Creator of the Body is it's owner we pay rent by doing naam simran'.

Story of Guru Nanak Dev Ji And The Two Shopkeepers
Two shopkeepers had their shops next to one another. One shopkeeper (S1) used to close his shop early and go to see Guru Nanak Dev ji. The other shopkeeper (S2) asked him that why you close your shop early, S1 said he goes to see Guru Nanak Dev ji. S2 also started closing his shop early but instead started going to a bad place. Both kept on going to their places. One day S2 asked S1 to go home together and agreed upon a place to meet after visiting their places, so that they can go to their houses together. S2 came to meeting place early because the door was locked at a place where he used to go. He found golden ring there by digging through pile of ashes. He was happy. S1 was on his way to a meeting place and thorn (kanda) hit his foot. So he was in pain and came to a meeting place limping. S2 told S1 that he used to go to a bad place and found a golden ring but you used to go to a good place and are in pain. S1 told S2 there may be something behind this and asked S2 to go to see Guru Nanak Dev Ji next day. Both asked Guru Ji why it happened like this. Guru ji asked " Do you know what you did in the past life?" Both said no. Guru you told S2, you donated many golden rings in the past life and every day you used to go to bad place, the golden ring turned into ashes. One golden ring is left because you could not go to bad place on the last day. Guru Ji told S1, you were supposed to be hanged but because you started coming to our place, hanging has changed to pain of a thorn.
LESSON LEARNT:
Dukh and Sukh in our present life are the result of deeds done in the previous lives. Gurbani says"Dukh sukh purab janam ka kiye". We can reduce the pains and sufferings of this life by devoting time toward Vaahi-guroo (Naam Japna, Paath, Keertan etc.). This will neutralize the effects of bad deeds done in the previous lives. My advice is to devote at least 2.5 hours daily for Vaahi-guroo. Repeating Vaahi-guroo Vaahi-guroo ..... Vaahi-guroo is the most powerful way especially at Amrit vela (3 hours before sun rise). Keep doing that everyday without any break, not only your this life will be better but you will reap the benefits after this life also.

Story of Guru Nanak's missionary pilgrimage to Ceylon

According to Tawarikh-i-Sikhan of Khushwaqat Rai "Nanak Shah then went to Singaldeep. Having heard of his (Nanak's) praises, Raja Shivnabh of that place was anxious to see him. He had vowed that he would believe the arrival of Nanak only if his dry garden were to become green. This came to happen. With the touch of Nanak's feet the dry garden became green and fruitful. The Raja still had some doubt. The Raja's wife had given birth to a daughter but she had told him that a son had been born. She went to Nanak Shah and prayed in all humility that if, with his blessings, the daughter could become a boy, and she would be saved from the wrath of the raja. Nanak told her that her wish would be fulfilled. The female child became a boy. Seeing this the Raja and the Rani became his disciples with heart and soul."

Since you have now acquired this human frame, this is your opportunity to become one with God:

All other labors are of no use; Seek the company of the holy and glorify God's name.

You Live by Sai's Spirit-Power, not by Yourself

The Unique Power that created this variegated Universe is the driving force of our lives. Man cannot live ably or alone without the aid of the Almighty's Power. Whether one is a scholar or layman, rich or poor, one cannot live by one's own ability. Baba is the Supreme Power, who, if we repose faith in Him, would hold our hand and make us walk with Him and takes care of every facet of our life. The sun and the moon shed light on us. But, Baba's Light is more luminous than the sun-light and more soothing than the moon-beams. Like a lamp or candle that burns itself to throw light all round, Baba is the Light of Wisdom who exposes our evils and illumines our minds. He grooms us with right conduct and binds us with Dharma. Baba is the Omnipotent One. We live, move and have our being in His Divine Light. Baba renounced everything and He is the master of the six internal enemies of man. His life is an ideal to be emulated by all. He is a paragon of virtues and the glory of His good conduct speaks volumes of His Self-Mastery. Events of the past, present and the future are pre-determined by His Will and therefore one should not think that one can live by one's free will. The Holy Feet of Sainath are the Abode of Ever-New Joy and, therefore, Sai devotees must beseech Baba to bless them dwell at His Feet, the Seat of Felicity.
